Public Service Announcement Knee Jerk to preempt your regularly scheduled DaDakota explamatory episode of NBA live jam!!!

So is Bibby greater than Francis now????

    29pts, 8 assists and 7 steals

We have Davis and Nash so far. May as well pile on our hero some more.

Or do these two ABA teams play NO defense. Do they play the game like it should be played, or do they forget fundamentals like defense.

Sign me up for ABA Jams 2003. Both these teams get trounced by Duncan's defense and Co...not to mention the Lakers (although I will cheer my heart out for either of them to beat LA!!)

Sorry, Loyola Marymount is a Gimmick offense. If you remember their offense, you'd remember they left cherry pickers on the other side of the half court line and played 4 on 5.

Yeah, basketball is meant to be played this way.

Good luck winning a title letting Bibby trounce you.

Holly cow your right! Basketball is meant to be played by dribbling down the 24 second clock and then taking the only bad shot you have left. Oh yeah not to mention ignoring defense.

Oh wait was this thread meant to compare Francis our hero and to Bibby or Duncan to who ever? I forget.

Dang, you beat me to it! I was going to continue the trend of making sweeping statements to criticize Steve after another point guard has a good game. Of course, I doubt there will be any "I'd take Nash over Steve" posts today after his 2-for-10 3-point shooting performance last night.

Hey, if Danny Ainge says Bibby is the best offensive player on the court 35 times in one game, you start to believe it.

But, aren't they paying John Thompson to elbow Danny out of his seat sometimes?

    ooops,

I pulled another lysdexic stat recall on the 7 steals. That was Davis's line last night.

    Bryon's line

    26, 8 ast, 7 rb, 7 STEALS

So, I think I'm getting the hang of this Fran Blinebury and DaDakota thing where you watch the best teams in the world play and when you see something you like, you blame it on Rudy and say, "I hope the Rockets are watching."

Let me give it a try, and you tell me how I'm doing:

    --------------------------------

Did you see Divac's passes? That is the way the game is meant to be played. Pass first; shoot second. He has a high basketball IQ. I can't believe Rudy can't teach Cato to have a high basketball IQ. Why can't Cato pass like that or has fundamentals like the Divac flop? Cato is an Hallucination who has a long way to go.

Cato is NOT a better basketball player......Divac is....

Cato IS a better athlete, and has a higher upside.

Anyone that can not see that Divac makes the Kings go, is not watching these playoff games.

He is incredible, he plays smart and fundamental basketball.

Cato is a GREAT one on one dunker, but there are 5 players on the court and he can't pass to any of them to make them better. Divac does this, Cato does not.

I think Cato has SOME potential, and has a higher ceiling, however who is to say he will ever reach that ceiling.

Even Rudy is worried that Cato has what it takes to reach that next level...read Oielpere's post about that.

The problem is that athleticism deteriorates faster then smarts.....look at Malone, still effective at 38.

Cato needs to mature in a hurry, or the Rockets will flounder for many more years with a perimeter game centered around a PG with no smarts. Cato needs to step up.

So, who wants to take Christie's perfect line from last night and contrast it to Cuttino's entire career. LOL If no one rises to the occassion, I'm going to get smeggy to do it.

Hmmm...I wonder if the "then" was intentional in fulfilling the DaDa role.

But you missed something big: Lucious Harris single handedly won game 2 for the Nets. That is smarts, that is a winner. 60% in the payoffs is amazing. We need him over Cutturnover because Cat is like the second worst shooting guard in the league - including backups!!!!

If the Wizards had played Bobby Simmons 40 + minutes, he could have scored 20 ppg easily!

If Harris played 40+ minutes, with his shooting percentage, he would average about 25 ppg.

This leaves us with the formula of:

    If...
Harris > Kidd > Francis (<Miller, Davis, Bibby, Parker, Nash) <=> Mobley (=Simmons)
    Then...
    Issel > Rudy

What is it they say.....about the sincerest form of flattery.

    :p

    Good stuff.

    DaDakota

PS. Bibby isn't better then Francis, but he does have better court savvy, and understanding of how to set his teamates up in a manner in which they can suceed.

How the heck can you say that Bibby is better than Francis just because of one game? When Bibby was on the Grizzlies, he didn't do anything! He was just a pretty good pg, nothing too special. Now that he's played a couple good games you can't say that he's better than Francis.
