I delivered a pizza to Roger Clemons's house today. He lives here during the offseason and was in town for some reason. He was sort of milling about and hanging out with his son. He didn't actually hand me the money, but the woman who did only gave me an 86 cent tip on a $13.14 order and said something like "I would give you more but it isn't my money." Maybe I should cut him some slack because he didn't actually hand me the money. Cuttino Mobley takes forever to answer the door, gives you the money himself and then still gives a crappy tip. I consider that worse.

Is there some rule that says just because you have a lot of money you should be a good tipper?

Sounds like his offensive game as well.

Takes Cuttino forever to pass the ball, and when he does it's usually a crappy pass with 2 seconds left on the shot clock:D

I agree, but I think they should do the customary 10-20% tip. If what he said about the 86 cents on a 13 dollar delivery is true, I think that's kind of cheap.

I always give more than a dollar every time I get a delivery order, regardless of the amount of time or service.

I always round up to give the guy or girl an even $17, $18, whatever. Even if it's like $15.01, I will still make it $17.

That is cheap. These guys KNOW they are giving bad tips, and they do it for a reason. I don't know the reason, but they do. You have to expect a good tip.

I mean, maybe they feel that if they gave a good tip to everyone, they would lose a lot of money so they decide to give bad tips instead.

    Doesn't make sense.

Arent you the pizza guy that got robbed a while back?...Looks like you made a move to a better area....

Well this weekend I ordered a pizza and my son had told me that the last time we ordered a pizza, the pizza guy told him that he had change back at his car..well the guy took off with the change...$2.... the same guy delivered the pizza this last time and tried to pull off the same little change thing....I guess he figures that the customer will just say 'keep the change'....when he told me he would return with my change..I walked with his ass to the car...told him about what he did to my son...he said he was sorry, it was his first job here and he didnt want to lose it.....told him he had to accept what people gave him...well Sayed was scared as hell and gave us a free 2 liter.....i meant no harm, just wanted him to stop ripping people off......I tip a dollar everytime we have pizza delivered...

End of story. Whether it's you, me, or Roger Clemens, it is a common courtesy.

I probably make .00000009% of what Clemens makes and I still tip well, too well if you ask my girlfriend. For a $15 pizza, I'd probably tip $4. I used to be a bartender and I know what it's like to scrape by on tips.

Roger, you fat ass, have another slice.

Remember a few years ago when Roger was a Yankee and he went back to Fenway for the first time as not a BoSox, I saw this sign that said "have another donut roger." that made me crack up.

It's his birthday today, I think.

Man, I'm a broke ass college student and that's about what I tip. I'm surprised you guys only tip $1 or so for a pizza.

I always pay the exact amount and ask for extra parmesian cheese. I never tip and slam the door in their faces before handing them my garbage and telling them, "here buddy, toss this on your way out".

no, but rich people have less justification to be crappy tippers than the rest of us. i tip $2 for pizza delivery. not great, but decent i would think. and im not even a millionaire!

this is just another of many examples of how roger clemons is a jerk.

Cuttino is one of the most generous tippers I know. I've waited on him and his family a few times and the smallest tip I can remember recieving is $40. No offense but maybe it is because a 10-20 dollar pizza you deliver isn't worth more than a $3 dollar tip. The most I've ever given a pizza guy is 7 bucks on 30-something. Other good celebrity tippers:

    Ken Griffey
    Neal Smith
    Debra Duncan
    Marvin Zindler
    Booker T
    Steve Mcnair(so-so)
    Jeff Bagwell
    Jose Lima

    Bad Tippers

    F^(k!ng Steve Francis
    Craig Biggio
    Eddie George
    Dominque Sascha(sp?)

Where are you cagey v, I live in the same Neighborhood as Roger, unless you are talking about his memorial house. He seems like a nice guy when I see him in the gym here but his kids are pretty much tools. The thing is though I always hated him for his dumb ass piazza antics, maybe thats why he didn't want to tip. Pizza sounds too much like Piazza.

Yeah, that was me. It's actually the same place, I'm only working dayshift now. It just has a really huge delivery with some really nice neighborhoods and some bad ones. It really is sort of an undertaking to deliver a pizza to someone's house and tips approaching or above $2 per delivery are very appreciated. I think Roger could have done me a little better.

    Papa John's @ Gessner & Westheimer

That has not been my experience with Cuttino. I have delivered pizza to his house about 10 times and have received anywhere between absolutely nothing to about a buck-fifty. Maybe he is more generous when he is out in public and less so when at home. Also, his huge-ass gated neighborhood is a real pain to deliver to because you are only allowed to drive 20 miles an hour through the place, a rule that is strictly enforced, and it takes forever to get there. When I worked at another store that delivered to his house, I always tried to find ways to avoid delivering his order if I could.
