Well after One Day. Seriously you see all these guys smiling after spending ridiculous amounts of time in prison, this dude was so angry they made him stay one more day. I think I'd react like him.

Anyway, there was just another story about a guy who spent 20 years and was innocent in Sunday's Chronicle. This is just ridiculous how many times this happens

Good for him, the sad question is how many more are there like him? I'd say too many.

You ought to read some of the comments, God I love TX

thankfully its about 75% supportive, but there are few idiots with comments like

    "he'll be back" blah blah

I know it prolly doesn't equate to all the years lost but doesn't he get a boat-load of cash as compensation?

Not nearly enough to account for what was taken from him.

the US, with far and away the highest rate of prison incarceration in the world, needs an overhaul of it's 93% win-rate for federal prosecutors legal system and a new approach to battling crime overall

I know rape is brutal violent crime, but why are these guys getting Life, I don't know if that's the case here, but the guy in sunday's chronicle who spent 20 years got a life sentence.

care to place a wager on him going back?

often, these guys end up going back, and really quick. Public intoxication, DUI, assault, possesion etc... This dude isn't going to know how to act for the first few weeks. 20 years in the hole, he doesn't have the mentality that most free men do.

he should be allowed to say whatever the hell he wants in that courtroom. and if there's a statue of lady justice in there, he should get to drop a load right on her head.

Rape at one point was a capital offense and has always been considered among the most violent of crimes. Just below murder.
