DC, thats freaky! I bought a little old lady house a few years ago here in the heights. She had died here. I've had no problem. This may sound stupid, but burn some incense in your house or someting. Hmmm, which people believe that incense purifies the spirits or something or rather? Also, I felt I was welcome here, thus no problems. Are you looking for ghosts? Because if you look for them, they find you! There must be some really lost or pissed off ghosts?! Strange man!

The closest I've ever come to any sort of weird, ghost-related experience was seeing that the main character in Witchboard II was named Paige (played by Ami Dolenz, daughter of The Monkee's Mickey Dolenz, which gives you an idea of how good a movie it was).

I lived in an apartment for almost four years where the previous occupant had died there (of AIDS-related complications, as I understand it. Come to think of it, though, he probably didn't die in the apartment), but I never experienced any unexplained weirdness or anything that would make me think of ghosts.

It tends to be true with what Mr_Oily said in that ghosts tend to come to those who are looking for them. For example, Cemetary's are known to be automatic guarentees of supernatural encounters. Further, pictures taken will often show "anomolies" or unknown white spots and smoke-like vapors. I took only 6 pictures in Klein cemetary (just out of curiosity) and no doubt, I had at least two of these spots near the children side of the cemetary. It was a sad day, because a Harris County Sheriff had just been buried. For the record, it was a one-time thing to prove to myself that these things can be captured on film. I do not actively look for ghosts as my experiences with them is not what I call fun.

I grew up in a house that had all kinds of weird goings-on. Reading your brief story and even re-telling this one gives me chill bumps.

We found out later that our suburban homesite was the original country estate homesite that had burned down in a fire.

The lady of the house had died in the fire.

We believe it was she that haunted our home.
Her name was Dorothy. Someone SAW her once sitting at our dining table and she VANISHED right before their eyes.

I heard her a lot. Weird stuff was happening all the time. She touched my mother's back once while she was putting on her make-up in front of the mirror! My mom jumped; white mommas can't jump!

Lying in my bed at night at the end of the hall, sometimes I could FEEL her coming towards me. I was terrified to even OPEN MY EYES. Then it would pass. I would still be scared but the experience would be past. I used to HATE waking up in the night.

No other place that I lived has ever had any similar kinds of events associated with it.

Last night while i was trying to go to sleep i heard a strange noise in my apartment i had my headphones on at the time, i asked my girlfriend if she heard anything, and she said no. so i thought maybe it was just my cd player. so i went to sleep. but when i got up this morning there was water all over the floor in my kitchen, and there was 4 ice trays lined up in a row, face down.
