what is the last concert you've been to? its time for a new one! i just saw zebrahead and lucky boys confusion on monday. amazing show, great experience, and i crowd surfed for the first time. it was crazy. i think i hurt a guy while i was doing it because i accidently hit him in the head. i didnt have any control over where i was going, so it wasnt my fault, but i still felt kind of bad about it. has anyone ever crowd surfed or have any crazy crowd surfing stories?
I took my wife to the Shania Twain concert last week. I must admit it was really a good show. We were 6th row on the floor so I think that made it that much better.
In the last thread I said Rancid and Green Day(Before they got big). Not because the two shows were great but because I had fun those two nights. I got in free at the Rancid show because the club (Goat's Head Soup) thought my friend and I were with the band (?). So we got to hang out and drink a few beers with them before and after the show. Plus the club burnt down afterward so the owner could collect the insurance. Green Day, because I was having a bad night, I left the Club before they went on and I ran into Billy Joe behind the place drinking next to a dumpster. He a gave me a beer and we talked for a few minutes before he went back in. I never did go back in to watch the show, I just slinked around Westimer drunk for a while. ( I still don't remember why I was in a bad mood.) One I didn't mention was an A.F.I. show at Emos (Houston). I was sitting in the courtyard debating if I should go ahead and use their restrooms, leave or try and hold it. If you have ever been to Emos then you can understand the fear of their restrooms. Well, I was just sitting there and the drummer comes by and sits quietly next to me. After a couple of minutes of silence I look at him and he is sitting there looking up at the sky and says, "No matter where you go in this world, you can always look up at the moon and feel like you are still at home with friends and family." I was not expecting that. I just nodded and said, "A little home sick?" He said, "Yep." Clanked my beer, said that he hoped I will enjoy the show, see you later and walked off..........That was an interesting moment. Oh by the way, I did eventually use the restroom. I ran into my ex-girlfriend and she escorted me into the lady's room. Much cleaner
I just realized I didn't answer the question. For some reason I thought it was asking what your favorite concert was. I don't remember what the last concert I went to. I think it was Ann Beretta in San Francisco about a year ago. Man, I haven't been to a show in a while.
I really don't go out at all anymore besides going to the bars that are walking distance from me. The last show I saw was The Buzzcocks at Engine Room. It was ok, the crowd sucked though. I would like go see Turbonegro but they aint coming to Houston.
I saw Howie Day at the Engine Room here in Houston. Unfortunately, it was a bit disappointing. I really like Howie's music -- I think he's really fantastic -- one of the musicians a lot of people would like, but they just don't know about him. However, the show was nothing to write home about. The music was pretty good, but the show was less than an hour and a half long, even with the encore. It was the shortest headliner I've ever been to. In fact, the whole show fits on one CD. The crowd was really good too. I suppose it could've been worse -- we could've gotten Howie's Dallas performance, when he was drunk and couldn't remember the words to any of the songs . . .
Duran Duran at some UH auditorium. No smoking or drinking in the show, but they sounded good. Before I get slammed for seeing Duran, I did see Perfect Circle and Radiohead. But I may get slammed for seeing those bands, too. Oh well.
I think it was Vallejo, Flickerstick and Zac Maloy at Spiros in Austin. Oh yeah, the Glen Elliott Band, bass provided by Drewdog. It really seems like I'm forgetting a big one.
They were my last show, in Austin a couple of months back. They played an afternoon show, and a late show. It was the club's (Emo's) 10th anniversary or something. Great stuff. They know how to entertain.
I saw the BareNaked Ladies a couple of weeks ago at the MacFarlin Auditorium on the SMU campus. It was a very good show.
My last concert was the DMB at the Shoreline Amphitheater in San Jose/Milpitas (RM95 was there). Next Monday I am going to catch the Counting Crows show at the Warfield in San Fran.
