So the check engine light turned on on my dads 03 dodge caravan. Our mechanic couldn't find anything wrong at first but now it seems the problem is the computer that controls the automatic transmission, it isn't shifting from the low gear to high. The mechanic said we need to take it to a dodge dealer, my dad is worried about how much that'll cost. Does anybody know any trustworthy mechanics they can recommend or is a problem like this something only the dealer mechanics should work on?
