From a competitor's perspective! (via realgm) Nice article on Ming. After the "whistle blows and the receipts are counted", so to speak, taking Yao #1 seems more and more like the Rockets' best option. And as far as the Chinese establishment is concerned, as one poster put it (I can't remember who, sorry), to paraphrase "This may be the only time the Rockets have to negotiate for him, at least they get it out of the way now."
What's the latest on Kermit? I saw a special last year or so that made it look like he was a good guy, and he felt like he was black-balled by the league. He was coaching in Africa or somewhere, if I remember. I not defending the guy - lots of people have made split-second mistakes without thinking that they paid the rest of their life for. Rudy almost died from the deal. But nonetheless, he came off as a somewhate sypathetic figure in the show.
