Another 1st round exit for Houston! This team is flatout not talented enough to win in the playoffs. They can't even handle 4th qtr intensity in playoffs the intensity is like that for the entire game. Teams will gameplan and by Game 2 they will front Yao exclusively. Billups/deron/Paul will proceed to average 40 on brooks. Artest won't have an answer besides for jacking up threes.
I've never been totally convinced that we will make it there either although I voted that we will get there.
If only you could post a gravestone in the thread and publish it in the chronicle. See you when we bump the thread in late April.
It makes me so ******* mad to see all these negative threads on this board. If you're not a Rockets fan, why are you even on this board? Seriously, get positive otherwise GTFO. But I just hate seeing every day a negative topic being created all the dang time. It's like you guys are turning into Rockets bashers.
You may be right, but I'm not too sure about it yet. I didn't see the game tonight I just looked at the boxscores and seen we was up by 17 in the 4th and thought the game was over than I come back and was like WTF I hear people on here talking about out Ron was jacking up too man 3's we just can't have that in the playoffs. Someone has to get to the basket and score because Yao can't do it all himself.
Won 6 games and lost 1. Just win tomorrow and go on from there this game is over. Brooks had to have a game like this and this team had to have a game like this. It happens. Chicago beat Orlando 120 to 102 a few days ago was that Rafer's fault? He had a horrible night that night.
over a 7 game series, teams will adjust and hone in on the fronting defense on yao. we've shown the past 7 years we have no solutions to it.
They lost this game by failing to put their priorities on defense. They let the Bulls have 55 points at half time, which is too much. Ron was hot in the beginning of this game and was too over-confident that his shots would fall again. That was magnified when he succeeded in putting in some shots in the early part of 4th quarter and pushed the lead to 15-17 points. That occurrence gave them a false impression that the Bulls were done and their defense efforts were not necessary for the rest of the game and that killed them. When the Bulls made a run to close the gap, they panicked. They rushed shots (as seen by lots of quick shots when there was much time left in the shot clock) and played to the advantage of play style of Bulls players. They lost patience in making better ball movements or try to get the ball to Yao. Yao only touched the ball on one occasion in the offense (at 9.25). I hope they can learn from their mistakes in this game. If they can improve, it's too early to say they can't pass out of the 1st round. I still have confidence in Rox.
a Yao centric offense will get exposed horribly in the post season. You are playing a team for up to 7 games. Yao may go off on one game but they will continously explore several strategies in negating him, fronting, hard doubles, soft doubles, driving him in the lane for fouls, running him to tire him. There are just so many holes that can be exploited. Take the cleveland game, play the cavs in a 7 gamer, does anybody think they will not have Wallace or their scrub Hickson front him in the subsequent games, or hard doubles or have James just run him over to pick up easy foul shots. Doesn't take an NBA coach to realize an almost infinite number of exploitable options with Yao. Fratello asked the question in the Cavs game, Why this team never makes it out of the first round? The answer to that question is this team is built as fools gold to show some flash in the regular season when the pressure is mild. When you raise the stakes in the boiler cooker this teams folds leaving so many of our players first round virgins. It starts from the top and trickles down to the scrubs.
After seasons of hyping up the team as contenders and their pathetic inability to get out of the first round, will make emos of the most stoic individuals
