LA TIMES LINK Comedian Andy Dick arrested on drug, sexual battery charges in Murrieta From the Associated Press By David Kelly, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer July 17, 2008 Police in Murrieta say comedian Andy Dick, who was arrested today on charges of sexual battery and suspicion of drug possession, had been warned earlier by officers to leave another local bar or face charges of public intoxication. Lt. Dennis Vrooman said police were called to the Corner Pocket Sports Bar about 9 p.m. Tuesday after receiving reports of a disturbance. When they arrived, they found Dick extremely intoxicated, he said. Rather than arrest the 42-year-old actor for public intoxication, they gave him the option to leave, which he did, Vrooman said. Police do not know if Dick was involved in the disturbance at the bar. Dick later ended up at Buffalo Wild Wings on Murrieta Hot Springs Road, where he drank with four or five friends, Vrooman said. Several bar patrons recognized Dick and approached him, including a 17-year-old girl. "She recognized that he was extremely intoxicated and walked away," Vrooman said. Later, as Dick and his friends were leaving, Vrooman said, Dick spotted the girl and her friend and shouted, "There are the girls. Moments later, he allegedly fondled the girl's breast with his right hand and then pulled her top down in the parking lot. "The victim was traumatized by this," Vrooman said. Police arrived at Buffalo Wild Wings after receiving calls from a witness about the incident as well as complaints about a man urinating in the bushes. Dick and his entourage got into a Honda pick-up truck and started to leave but were stopped by police. Vrooman said Dick was intoxicated and belligerent, but he would not go into detail about what the comedian said. He said Dick listed his address as Woodland Hills. Officers found a gram of mar1juana and one Xanax anti-anxiety pill in his pocket. Dick was in town to attend the funeral of a friend's father, Vrooman said. Reports are circulating that Dick also had a previous encounter with Riverside County sheriff's deputies outside a restaurant in Canyon Lake. A spokesman for the department could not be reached this afternoon for comment. In addition to the charges of sexual battery and suspicion of drug possession, Dick also may be charged with public intoxication, authorities said. He is scheduled to be arraigned Aug. 12 at 7:30 a.m.
That article cracked me up. When Dick is someones last name you'd think an editor would use the persons first name throughout the article. Quote...Several bar patrons recognized Dick
Kinda tacky but...We had a client at work who was named Anita and married a guy with the last name Dick, becoming Anita Dick. I had to try not to laugh when I was introduced.
