Way too overpaid. Luke Scott is a better hitter than Jones now and makes pennies compared to him.

Bingo. Not to mention, Jones had the second worst zone rating in the National League among center fielders. His supposed great defense is built on reputation from previous years, not the reality.

Well if Andruw Jones could slide into the number 2 spot in the rotation behind Roy O...I'm all for it..otherwise...pass. I'm more excited to see what young guys like Josh Anderson and Towles could bring then an overrated, veteran outfielder.

We dont need another 100 million dollar contract for an outfielder.

    Spend that money on PITCHING.

His average was never really any good. His power numbers are outstanding though. Not necessarily this year, although 94 RBI's is a lot more than many can say.

Boras was asking the Braves for $20 million...for a guy that hit .222

I think the Astros will pass...

I wouldn't want Jones. Overrated and overpaid.. his defense isn't even what it used to be anymore.

Or we can watch Willy T kick ass in postseason again, the postseason this team's getting further away removed from.

Get Andruw Jones, then bring in Barry Bonds for a year to team up with Carlos Lee for chunkiest "economy of energy" outfield.

20mm/yr - for 7 years. Think Boras'll find a taker? It's not my money but if it were AJ would be signed for 20mm. Total. Over 3, maybe 4 years.

Umm, Taveras is out for the season with an injury. The Rockies went on this magical run (14 of their last 15 and 17 of their last 22) with Taveras on the bench replaced by a superior offensive player in center... much the way Burke received a lot of playing time in CF when the Astros beat the Cards in the NLCS.

Is Andruw Jones the most overrated player in baseball?
