Can't wait for my contract to end because Android 2.2 updates are starting to roll out for the Nexus one. Full flash support and even USB and Wireless tethering to go along with speed improvements . Other Android phones should be receiving the over-the-air update soon. http://www.androidpolice.com/2010/0...or-trackball-car-dock-improvements-with-pics/
Some of these features are nice... Boosting of the browser and the Exchange support.... they did good with this update. I'm really rooting for Android to do something spectacular... but they need to roll out with better Android phones on AT&T.
Yeah I am on 2.1 and probably won't be getting an upgrade for months (Acer Liquid). And 2.1 is very good to begin with. iPhone CHECK MATE. The next iteration, Gingerbread is expected in Q4 of this year. I wonder what else they will do it then. I will probably get my next phone when that comes out.
I've got the Nexus One and have been waiting for the OTA update all weekend. Does anyone know when it's gonna be coming or where I can go to download it?
You gonna dump the iPhone and get a Nexus one? I think your last 2 phones have been the ones I'd recently gotten at the time.
http://theunlockr.com/ They have videos and step by step instructions. One page for rooted users and another for nonrooted users.
Oh man, exchange support coupled with awesome 4g WIMAX in Houston = might leave my Iphone for Sprint 4g HTC.
No clue when the Evo will get it. I heard the Desire is scheduled for late June and given the Evo also has Sense UI, my guess is it would be around the same time. But no official timeline has been given.
Wait, back up, you say this is for ALL Android phones? Such as the Hero from HTC on Sprint? I am extremely interested in the tethering, as Sprint is freaking NOTORIOUS for disabling any kind of ability to use the phone as a modem, even though the manufacturers make them to be able to do it.
i like how andriod phones are over all the carriers, letting the consumer decide who lives and dies thank you android
I'm quite excited. They're only rolling it out to folks of the press who they had delivered Nexus Ones to initially, though... the rest of us will have to wait a few weeks. But dang, I am glad I bought the Nexus One -- first to get Android updates!
Any phone you buy from a carrier, off they give an update out would come through the carrier. One great thing about Android is that you can root it and install customized firmware easily
Based on what I have read, all Android phones are capable to run it but no word on whether or not they will get it. I think Droid or newer, for sure. Hero just recently got 2.1, might be a while before 2.2
