Could the Lakers be the other unidentified team making a play at signing Dampier?

Except in the playoffs, when it really matters.

No, that's not the case, his best work is typically done in the regular season, when he will put up several 20/10 games in short spurts causing people to declare him the next dominant center, then he hurts himself sometime in March and then typically does little in the playoffs, like in 2009 or 2010.

More reason for the Rockets to beat the Lakers in the opener.

Oh oh, after the checks stop coming in, he'll be reduced to making it drizzle.

Yao actually plays better against Bynum. Gasol gives Yao fits b/c he is quicker and likes to front.

After reading this article, sounds exactly like what Shaq did and it bit the Lakers hard. For years I've sung Bynum's praises against doubters, but I give up now.

I wonder if this will poison the water with Kobe like it did with Shaq.

Does it count as being healthy in the playoffs, when you are sitting in stret clothes?

    Sucks for him.
Oh well, I'm sure returning in late November/early December is just enough time for him to get back.
And of course, for the Lakers to make their run at the finals......again.
