This kid lit it up last night against the Rockets. That up-and-under move he put on Morris was beautiful. This kid is only 20 years old and already he is being raved about like he is the next Nowitzki or Stojakovic. Who was the last Russian player to succeed in the NBA?

    Stojakovic: Croatia
    Nowitzki: Germany
    Torgkolu: Turkey
    Tsakalidis: Greece
    Ilguaskas: ???

    I can't recall any Russians!

    Arvydas Sabonis (Portland)
    Zydrunas Ilgauskas (Cleveland)
Sarunas Marciolonus (sp?) (former Golden State star)

All are from Lithuania. All were good players.

I really liked his game, his dumks were almost effortless which makes me wonder what he can actually do!He is a good passer, can rebound, penetrate, and pretty good defense for the most part.

He played pretty good D blocking some shots,he did have a little trouble with Langhi when he was on him,Langhi was a little too quick.Other than that he played well.He had some nice passes as well,I dont think his team mates were ready for some of them though.

That was the 2nd game I seen of him and he looks like he will be a good player even though it was just summer leagues!I think he can make the team or a team at small forward somewhere.

I also like that 5'11" Point that is playing with Toronto from Italy. He might not make a team though, specially with his "Dennis Rodman" attitude! Also may have some trouble on defense but if El-Amin can make a team I think he can,but I dont see it!

Don't worry about "thinking" that he could make a team somewhere - the kid IS on the Jazz. Drafted in '99, and playing his rookie year this coming season - so for mine that's a 3 year guaranteed contract - he's made a team.

I saw him play a fair bit over the Olympics and in a pre-Olympics mini-tournament involving Russia/ Canada/ New Zealand/ Australia.

    Weak points:
His shot is not good and he's quite light.

    Strengths:
He does all the little things well, but is a poor outside shooter - that aside I'd have to say he's an excellent perimeter defender and has great timing on weakside shot-block attempts. He tries hard and is very athletic.

I reckon he'll do well for the Jazz where the pressure on him to contribute offensively will be low in terms of creating for himself and he should benefit from the offense they run.
