I have allways been a fan of his game. He hustles and puts forth more effort then any player in the NBA imo. He gets offense rebounds, crashes the boards, blocks shots better than anyone since dream. Can hit the open jumper all the way out the the 3. Plays smart team ball, plays great defense, and is only 23! He is the next Dirk Nowitski or Peja Stojakovic. I don't know how, but the Rockets should go after him real hard.

How do you propose they do that??

You going to offer Yao?? Anything less than that and the Jazz probably hang up on CD. :)

I wouldn't trade Yao, but I think I would give them Steve Francis. Kirilenko's contract is alot smaller, but couldn't the Rockets re-work Kirilenko's contract to make it work?

IMO, the Jazz wouldn't trade Kirilenko for Steve straight up.

Even if they would, they would have to throw in some other players to make the salaries match. Probably Harpring and Lopez.

So if you are the Jazz, would you trade Harpring, Lopez and Kirilenko for Steve?????

Now, once AK47's rookie contract is up (after next season), and he can sign a max deal, his salary might come closer to matching Steve's.

But again, I don't think the Jazz would trade AK47 for Steve. In fact, I am quite confident they wouldn't even consider it.

AK47 can play 3-4 positions, can rebound, defend, play inside and outside. Hes also only 23 years old.

Utah is well under the cap this summer, meaning they could take Steve for Kirilenko straight up IF we/they wanted to right?

I wouldn't do it straight up.

I'd be more interested in something like

Francis for Harpring, Lopez, and Pavlovic.

Thats right. The Jazz are under the cap, so matching salaries wouldnt matter.

Regardless, SF doesn't get you AK47 IMO.

AK is perfect for Yao. He's light years ahead of Steve. Utah would never part with him.

Sure, make the call, but don't expect to get him. Utah can have anyone on our team not named Yao, and we will take all their bad contracts. Oh right, they don't have any bad contracts.

    No way ever.

U r not seriously comparing him to SA are you? this dude is more known for his defense. SA was too, but was he ever an all star or top 3 in blocks and steals in one season? I honestly think he will get Defensive player of the year. Do one thing. Dont worry about his scoring. Look at his complete stats. If he has 8 points, he will have 12 boards, 5 assists, 5 blocks, and 3 steals. I know, I pick him in fantasy bb all the time. Trust me, no other ex Jazz players put up those stats.....even in Utah. Dont make the mistake of labeling him a 'Jazz type' player. Harpring might be, definitely. Not AK47. He's for real

I'd trade the entire team excluding Yao for Raul Lopez and Andrei Kirilenko. Raul Lopez plays like a lesser version of Stockton.

none of those guys were ever considered "great" players. great "role" players, yes. "great" players? no. kirilenko is widely considered a great player. his allstar selection confirmed it. so there, really, is absolutely no comparison to the guys you mentioned. no more of a comparison than saying:

yao ming - see shawn bradley, manute bol, gheorghe muresan

Sometimes after reading the GARM, you would think that every NBA team is just lining up to give us their best players. Every time another player has a good game (especially against us), a thread or two pops up suggesting that the Rockets should "go get him".

It's almost like the other NBA teams are just the Rockets farm system. Develop them, then give them to us.

Well said, I'm sick of these posters who think that getting people like TMac or Paul Pierce is the easiest thing in the world. Hell, this aint NBA Live people, other teams like to have their superstars too. I dont mind trade threads, but please give us realistic stuff, and stop talking about getting good looking rooks like Hinrich or Wade, cuz if they play good and they rooks, you aint getting them unless their management has a brain cramp

esp when we could get them for Moochie, Maloney and a Two Sammiches

Honestly . . it is getting to the point
I'm like this. . if you wanna brag abount a player
please take it to the DISH!
Instead of saying . . LET'S GET HIM
so you can say it is Rockets related

    Rocket River
Everyone thought those JAZZ Players were VERY GOOD if not great
they became forgettable outside of UTAH
Even if he great now. . . be could easily degrade to
    just good.

Well, the thread starter knows little about kKirilenko, comparing him to Dirk and Stojakovic,

Kirilenko couldn't shoot for **** a year ago, and has become above average this season. However, he is by NO MEANS a shooter.

Not taking away from the fact that he's SUPERB, but he's not a shooter.

I don't think we can get him, and Utah would be stupid to trade him while he's on the rookie scale and they're under the cap, not needing any cap relief.

Sane, he may not be a lights out shooter, but he has always looked like a star on the defense end. I still remember him dominating Eddie Griffin during his first summer league performance. I think the last play of that game was AK blocking him (or ?) and catching his own tip out of the air, running the full court and slamming it home to end the game. That game made me wish we had AK, not Griffin.

I wish the Rockets had somebody like AK or Najara, that seems to always cause a stir on the defensive end.

AK47 is the euro-pippen, minus the whiny personality, plus a bad haircut.

he is the prototypical robin to any team's batman.
