Jerry Rice has 15; 100+yards 10+ catches, NFL Games. Andre Johnson has 14; 100+ yards 10+catches, NFL Games
yep i didn't believe it until i looked it up. I thought for sure Chris Carter, TO, or Randy Moss had to be up there.
It is very, very reasonable to say he could retire today and be put in the HOF tomorrow... One of the best ever!
Andre Johnson is hands down the best receiver in the league. No one even comes close. He could easily go down as the best wide receiver of ALL TIME.
alright, don't get carried away. he's clearly the best in the league this year, and the best the league has had for the past few seasons as well. he is not, however, in the argument for greatest receiver of all time.
Thats why I said 'he could'. He's not there yet, but if he has at least 3-4 mvp years with Schaub, then I think he'll be right up there near the top.
He'll never be able to get anywhere near Rice's TD mark. That is what separates Rice from the rest of the pack, sheer scoring ability.
Starting his career with David Carr as his quarterback definitely didn't help. Frankly, I'm surprised he even has the numbers he has right now.
Wow, I take that back. Andre should have at least another 8-10 years left in him. I didn't reliaze he's only 29 and been in the league 7 years. He definatley has a lot of game left in him.
Just imagine if Andre didn't have slacker David Carr and instead had someone like Schaub throughout his whole career. Jerry Rice is the best WR ever in my book, but it's nice to have Joe Montana and Steve Young as your QBs for the majority of your career.
How many 37 - 40 year old receivers do you see in the NFL? C'mon now, I love Andre too, but ....... Rice is arguably the best PLAYER of all time.
AJ should be top 5 of all time when it is said and done. Maybe top 3. NOBODY will touch Rice's mark, ever.
Disagree. Randy Moss currently has 150 TD's and has not lost any of his speed or athletic ability. Even after this year when he will have about 160 TD's. He only turns 33 next February. If he stays with the Patriots, which just makes too much sense, with Brady, I could see him last at least another 4 seasons if not longer. If gets 13 TD's each year (like last year), that puts him right at the record. I realize there a number of "if"'s in that scenario, but I see no reason why it is not feasible. I think Andre is a great wide receiver, and I would never want any other current player as a WR. However, he needs to have more big games and stages to show that skill. I see no reason he cannot make those plays (Wash game is an example), but he just needs more opportunities. Because of that simple fact, I think he is still behind Moss & Rice career wise right now. That can easily change over the next 4 years. Good thing I have both of them on my fantasy team.
Another record similar to that one, Jerry Rice holds the record for most 10 reception games (regardless of yards) with 17. Andre has 15. Marvin Harrison holds the record for most games with at least 11 receptions with 12. Andre has 8. If he hadn't gotten injured in 2007, he'd be going for the record for most consecutive seasons with 100 receptions this year.
