We should've found a way to get this guy, during the trading period. The Wizards were practically entertaining any offers, while rumors were afloat earlier that he was on the block. He has 25 points (13 shots) and 10 rebounds for the night, and averaging the same number of the last three games. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3975/gamelog;_ylt=An6g40CZfuzVoXAsQe9g0tg7PaB4 He would've been a better pick up than both Hill and Jeffries. Skill-wise (more potential), athletically, and contract wise. Also, he is starting produce consistently with minutes and has more size than both players. Hill might be a decent pro someday, but he won't ever have this kind game that Blatche is showing. He'd would've been beastly next to Yao.
He is good. I've kept up with him for 2 years now. He had to play behind Haywood so didn't get a ton of minutes. He's got 20/10 potential. He just need stop grow up.
The guy can shoot, play in the paint, (is a d#mn) good dribbler (especially for someone who is pushing 7 feet), and has the body frame of a large center.
i was thinking the same about this guy for a while now too. you think they would've entertained chase for blatche?
Guys, let's come back down to planet Earth. The Wizards weren't going to trade him for anybody on the Rockets roster. Grunfeld was pruning the old branches, not liquidating their team.
didn't this guy get caught soliciting a hooker? More importantly how exactly do you propose getting him, and what players do you think we could have given up to get him? Because if that's all there is to it DM should have found a way to get LBJ or Bosh too. Those guys are much better than Blatche, and everybody knows those guys won't stay with Toronto and Cleveland after the summer.
Eddie Griffin 2.0. This guy was supposed to be the next generation Kevin Garnett. His potential is evidently immeasurable. Antawn Jamison couldn't get to him, no one can (management put his locker next to AJ in an attempt to help him to mature). Yes, he has to "grow up." Problem is, he has had several years in the league, and he doesn't get it. Whoever gets him next has to detoxify all the trash he likely absorbed in the Wizards locker room, too. Sad to say, he is probably a lost cause.
Dude's killing it. I don't care if he plays for a sorry team with no players... his numbers are still impressive.
On top of that, he is actually helping his team win. He is a pretty good player, just a headcase. Hopefully, this opportunity will help him grow up both as a player/person.
the wiz have been playing very well since the trade, and blatche has been a stud. blatche started out the year great too, but then got lost in the rotation. now that he's their best player, he's finally getting his due. he's going to be a VERY VERY good player in this league. a lot of NBA heads are going to know his name real soon.
The guy has been averaging 26.5 pts, 12 rb since Jamison and Butler were traded. Been destroying for my fantasy team and I got him with the 160th pick.
wow the numbers this guy is putting up ever since feb 17 are 25.0 ppg, 11.2 rpg, 1.3 bpg and 0.569 FG% in 38.3 mpg we could've probably gotten him too. wonder if he can keep this up.
How did this guy fall to the second round? I'm assuming it was due to his 'character' issues. (Which he had plenty of during his career). But still. Why didn't the coach play him over Haywood until after Haywood was traded? Especially if he could put up these kind of numbers with starter minutes...he should've been starting 2 season ago.
Weren't you reading some of the other posts? He's been inconsistent and immature the past few years. AJ tried his best to help him mature but he couldn't do anything. Here's hoping Blatche has indeed grown up.
