SHANGHAI (Reuters) - China's gridlocked drivers will be able to sing their blues away next year after the country's only privately owned car maker rolls out a car equipped with karaoke gear. China Geely Group said Tuesday its new model, the Geely Beauty Leopard, would retail for $18,000 and come with a phone, karaoke machine, and other bells and whistles, such as navigation gear based on the global positioning system (news - web sites). The Beauty Leopard will enter production in January 2003 and go on sale in April, Geeely said in a statement. How's this any different than people driving down the freeway singing songs to the radio or playing air drums at stop lights?
My first car was a 92 Pontiac Bonneville SSE with a HUD that read out the MPH and gas levels...I guess they could flash the words across like that. By the way, does anybody know of cars that still do that...it was one of the most helpful extras in any car I've ever had. I never got a ticket or lots track of how fast I was going because it was always right there. I don't know why all cars don't have that option.
