We'll need a PF in 2007 draft because Juwan Howard is getting older each year and Chuck Hayes is a good bench player but not the player for the starting five. Shane Battier is not a PF. And can play minutes but... Then, what could be available when we pick. As we will make a good saison, we won't choose in the lottery then forget Noah, Wright, Li Jianlian, Mac Roberts or Hansbrough. I think that Horford (Florida) could be a very good addition when we'll choose. Strong, good scorer, rebounder and blocker.
Yeah, I like Horford. I mentioned him in the Noah/Yi Poll thread. But I think Horford's stock will go way up this year and may also be out of reach. Like I said, he's been in the shadow of Noah but will probably emerge this year. While Noah has a more frenetic style of play, Horford has a more conventional power forward style.
There's no way he's not a lottery pick, and I'm pretty sure Rocket fans won't want to be there, so he's not an option. He's above average in every aspect of being a power forward, but not great in any area. He'll be a solid starter in the NBA.
He will be a very good NBA player but he will be in the lottery. However, his teammate Corey Brewer could be still available for Rockets. Still not totally satisfied with defense, JVG? Just draft him.
No, not really. Warrick was even skinnier in college than he is now and still kind of looks out of place trying to play close to the basket. Horford is much bulkier and more dominate in the post. He's a better rebounder and is much more physical. IMO, if Warrick is ever going to be really successful on this level he needs to take a page out of Tayshaun Prince's book and try to model his game and playing style after him. Horford, on the other hand, is a legit NBA PF.
