*drumroll* Jeff OH MY GOD! Do you believe in Miracles?!? Ok, so with Jeff's domination in the tournament coming to a close with a solid thrashing of Rocketman95 for the championship, the announcement seems a bit anti-climactic, but it has to be said. Congrats to everyone involved, and congratulations especially to Jeff, voted by the posters and readers at CC.Net the Best Poster of this BBS. Feel free to put this on your resumé.
Look-out Jeff's coming atcha He's like a pit, say sickem he'll attack ya Don't try and run, you know he's much fasta, don't waste time, kneel for the masta.... Nice job Jeff!
This is not to belittle RM95 in any way, but was there any doubt that Jeff would win this thing? He is the best poster here, and he is also one of the nicest people that I have met here. He is the type of person that other people wish they could be like...seriously. Congratulations, Jeff...great job and keep up the continued excellence in posting. Also congrats to RM95 for being #2 out of 128, and especially let's not forget the effort and time that Puedlfor put into this thing. Pued - I enjoyed it...thanks for doing this - you did a great job!
It is all about the matchups RM....if you were in the Rockets forum, you would have been thrashed. GRRR DaDakota
SSSSSSSSPPPPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECH I wanna hear from the man who "Saved Our Rockets"!!!! congrats, Jeff!
{digging through speeches to find the right one} I'd like to thank the Academy... {no, that's not it} My fellow Americans... {no, wrong one} I'd like to thank all the little people; Billy Barty, Mini Me, Mickey from Seinfeld... {he he he, I crack myself up} Ahem... All kidding aside, I really want to say a sincere thank you to everyone who voted for me (and a sincere "you suck" to those who didn't - - just kidding) and to everyone involved in this whole process. I am truly overwhelmed to have been honored in this way. I've been around this bulletin board a long time and I've made a heap of posts; some I thought were ok, others really sucked! But, the thing that keeps me coming back is the fact that I enjoy the company of the people here. I don't have a lot of friends in real life, just a few. There are people on this BBS who I feel more friendly towards than some people I've known personally for a long time. Despite the fact that many of us put on personas as a way to mask our real personalities (and, I think, insecurities too), I feel like I know many of you as if we hung out together in reality, not just in cyberspace. I want to say thanks especially to these people: Clutch - It isn't my world, it's his. It's amazing how a website can bring joy into the lives of people and bring people from all different cultures, backgrounds and parts of the world together. The undying dedication he has to this site is more than I can imagine. Puedlfor - I cannot tell you how impressive this tournament has been. You are amazing. Mrs JB - This one is important for two reasons. First, her acceptance of my "imaginary friends" has allowed me to not only continue posting here but to share it with her because she posts too. I can't imagine a more understanding and open-minded person to share my life (and cyberspace) with. Second, today is the 10-year anniversary of our very first date (we saw Wayne's World and ate at Bennigan's - I'm a big sepnda! ). Nearly 6 of those years have seen me posting on some crazy Rockets BBS and all of them have had me screaming at a basketball team on TV. She is, by far, the greatest. Anyway, I hear them cuing up the music, so I'll cut this one off. This is a community and I am honored to be a part of it. I hope everyone will continue to learn from one another and continue to make this one of the coolest places to be on or offline. Thank you again. You guys (and gals) are the greatest!
Yeah, I know, Major, Rimbaud, haven, and CriscoKidd (my last 4 opponents, I think A-Train's the bomb as well) all suck as posters and I was lucky to get such crappy matchups. Sounds like someone's bitter. Congrats Jeff. Even if you hadn't have saved our Rockets, you're still the best poster here. I enjoyed meeting you and Mrs. JB the one time in person, and in case anyone doubts it (who could), the man's great, always there to lend a helping hand. Now get us those Sanchez contacts!!
Mr. / Ms. JB: I am guessing you guys ate that Bennigan's fried cheese. Glad you made it, though. Congratulations, you're the heart of this board. Puedlfor: Totally outstanding job. I thought it was destined for disaster when you started it, but was converted by your totally outstanding selection of #1 seeds. In all seriouness, this must have been a pain and it was fun to follow; thanks for great planning and execution. It was like a BBS Rorschach Test, where everyone's good and bad points came out. A mix between Valentines Day and Festivus, if you will. How do we determine draft order for next year? Are we having a doubles tournament? When thacabbage gets healthy, I want him on my squad. Personally, I think each year's winner should just retire from competition. Might work out better that way. CBFC: Actually, at the time we met I was not a vegetarian. She had a baked potato and a salad. I had the Monte Cristo (which should be the Monte CrisCO with all the fat that is in it - mmmmmm, fat).
