Man I have been waiting for this. No offense DaDa but you totally misjudged Landry's talent. The guy is a total beast. 15 pts and 11 rebounds in limited minutes. This guy is gonna be a player and he hustles for everything on the floor. He's a big body with a incredible vertical leap for a big man. He scores from everywhere. Hayes may be a great rebounder but Hayes gives you zero on scoring. Landry on the other hand is the complete basketball player and he will be in the NBA for years. He's another steal of the NBA draft.

You know what? I thought he looked terrible, in the preseason, Mike Harris looked better, but it seems that he has found his confidence and looks like an NBA player.

He has nice hops and played well, needs work on D but he looked very nice tonight.

I would like to see him against real competition, but he looked nice out there....makes me think Hayes rotation days could be numbered in the next year or so...

I'd like to see him against better teams but alas he's not going to get minutes in those games...

Can he play the 3 spot? I don't see him prying any minutes from hayes and scola...

If you took a scout that has never heard or seen any of these players play they would pick Landry before Jefferson.

He should be able to play the 3 spot. He has a sweet 18-20 footer he can hit consistantly and he has 3 pt range as well. As he gets the motion offense, he's gonna dominate. I noticed that he's been compared to a potential Carlos Boozer type player in that he could be a steal of the second round.

Drexler mentioned that Morey traded down in order to get him. Everyone was like Carl who??? But now we see what the Wizard has done again! :D

From my recollections of pre-season, Carl Landry has a very good jumpshot. He didn't show this kind of athleticism in pre-season though

why would they be a scout if never seen or heard these players?

are you basically saying if a scout just judged these 2 players from just this one single game tonight? then it's elementary...

You are right DD, he needs to work on his defense and that's the only area i think he needs to work on. This boy will shine like Kenny Thomas but with good offense!

Landry was impressive. I thought Novak did quite well also. Everyone is
doing OK these days compared to the earlier days when everyone looked
    lost and hesitated.

Carl was superb, fun to watch. Double-double and perfect from the field. It's great to see the hard work pay off for him. He's definitely a keeper.

    I loved his play.

Didn't he get a huge block in the game? It's not in the ESPN boxscore.

Has he really improved since that Toronto game or was it just playing the worst team in the NBA?

Good pt from Matt Bullard. If you split Hayes and Landry at PF with Scola at the other side, then teams cannot double team Yao because the offensive pressure will make other teams pay. He also said the coaching staff can then play matchups. If you have a really good scorer on the other team at PF, maybe you play Hayes who is a better defender but on the other hand, you can play Landry who is a better scorer to put pressure on them on the other side.

I look for this configuration to be used pretty soon. What happens to Battier I have no idea.
