...the intersection of Egret Bay/FM 270 and FM 518/FM2094 in League City. I've spent too much of my life waiting at this ridiculous mismanagement of civil engineering. Let this thread be the "release" thread. After recently moving from League City to Las Vegas, I've reflected on all of the things that irritated me about the Houston area. I will truly miss good Tex-Mex, friendly people and cheap housing, but I will not miss that wickedly horrible intersection in League City. Feel free to throw out your own "universal number one" signs to your favorite irritations...
God yes. That intersection has to be the lonnnnnnngest wait on the planet. The whole block should just be burned down and rebuilt from the ground up. It's suicide-inducing.
Road irritations for me right now....all well deserving of the double #1 salute: Chimney Rock south of South Braeswood. Kirby between North Braeswood and Holcombe. The entire Medical Center area. The ramp from 610 North to Memorial Drive/I-10 East and West
I'd have to go with the Katy Freeway/Beltway frontage road intersection. And the Westheimer/Elmside lights that decide to go flashing red at least once a week during rush hour traffic.
the bottleneck from 59N to 610N through the Galleria (well, they have fixed that, but it really use to suck the big one) 59N going into downtown is a huge mess with the Spur closure
Man, that s@!* pisses me off so much! I left work late this past Friday at around 6:30, so I figure I'll get home pretty quick. It took me about an hour because lights were flashing on Westheimer. This time I think it was Westheimer and Dunvale, but I've ran into those Elmside lights on several mornings. You'd think they could figure out how to fix the lights on one of the busiest streets in Houston!
