Let me know if you agree or disagree?
I don't like banking our playoff chances on how well other teams (like the Lakers & Phoenix) do. Let's just win as many games as we can, and control our own destiny.
I see what your saying but If you look at both Schedules...The Rockets are in better position to take that 8th seed. Im just saying the Rockets have a tough schedule but Phoenix has an even tougher one. The Lakers are not gonna move back to 8th or 7th. If anything they might take Utah's spot but that is very doubtfull. I think Lakers stay in 7th and I think the Rockets take that 8th seed.
It's easier to judge this way. I think it will come down to the tie breaker, so the Rox can either win 14 and beat Phoenix, or win 15, and the Phoenix game wouldn't matter.
It is situations like this, (the Suns and Rockets coming down to the wire for the last playoff spot) that have one pulling their hair out on some of those loses via the Cavs, Miami, Memphis, Clippers etc. If the Rockets win those games things aren't as tight as they are now. We can't undo that. However, I do think the tie breaker will be huge. March 16th game with the Suns in Houston will be huge; we win that game and that things will be looking better for this team. If we can go around .500 in that road stretch in March then that will probably be huge for the club. Chris
If I counted correctly, Phx has 2 back-to-backs, Houston 5. Not good. By Th, Rox will have played 7 in 10? Too many.
XIKI, Remember what the franchise ( I don't mean Steve) keep throwing at us every time the Rockets are down. The back tp backs should not be an excuse because ............ THEY ARE STILL YOUNG!!
You were consistent in saying Phoenix would win and lose to the same teams we would except Milwaukee where you gave us a win and Phoenix a loss. Even if you amended that, I do think our list of opponents looks more favorable. We have more road games and more back-to-backs. Taking those things into account, it may be more of a toss-up.
And that, in a nutshell, is exactly why the Rockets find themselves fighting to squeeze into the playoffs. To this point in the season, they've shown no consistency in being able to beat the teams they should beat.
