Here is the link

Looks like our Yao got a competitor.
This Korean guy is 7'3", 300lbs, averaging 27 points and 10 boards AT THE AGE OF 18. He's looking into entering the NBA draft in 2004. He might grow to be as tall as Yao. However, I doubt he's have more impact. Hmmm.... what if the Rockets can somehow get him, that's gonna be the coolest thing ever. Two Asian giants towering over NBA!!!   :eek:Just kidding, it's not gonna happen. I'm happy for Asian basketball though. :)

those are high school stats, and what does this have to do with the Rockets Game Action Forum anymore than a LeBron James or a Darko Milicic thread. There's a forum for College, International hoops, and NBA Draft.

You might be right now this one. But since there is a similarity between him and Yao, I thought the Rockets fans might be interested in this here. I am probably wrong though.;)

umm... Jordan played in elementary school basketball when he was young, does that make him a bad player?

you think there's an NBA team that would draft a guy straight out Korean high school just because he's 7'3?? he hasn't played a professional game yet. he isn't even on the Korean national team, last time I checked. Yao produced better stats against much tougher compitition in China and international games. that's the difference!

I am wondering what your IQ is. Let me know please, otherwise I feel bad for meeting people like you. Or, maybe it's because of your age. Are you 11? 13?

OK, sorry for being rude, I am usually not this way. But your response is just too unintelligent.

The NBA draft is all about potentials. They drafted players from american high schoolers with only decent stats. Now days, the GMs focus much more on size and athleticism. You saw those high school busts, right? If the GMs would draft them, they might just well try some Korean youngsters. Hey, if I had a late first round or second round pick, I wouldn't mind spend it on some big yound kids. He might turn out to be decent, or great if I am lucky enough. If he is a bust, so what? I can sell few jerseys in S. Korean and have the rights to own the first Korean NBA player in history. I would do it. Hell, the Nuggets spent their fifth pick for a Georgian 7 footer who was said to be the next Gasol. The Knicks might just spend their pick for a Korean 7'3'' who was said to be the next Yao.

if he is good, he will be selected to national team soon just because he's 7'3.(now the center of South Korea national team is just 6'10)

they need him to compete against great wall.(Yao,Wang,Bateer)

maybe we can compare him to Yao soon.

The same people who blasted the media for not giving Yao a chance will not give this guy a chance? Hypocrites?

Maybe a 2nd round pick, depends on the NBA scouting.

Forgot about Ha

Have you seen Ri Myoung Hoon on the other side of the border. I bet if you look straight up, you can!

The Guy is 7'-10"...........7 foot 10 inches tall I repeat!!!!!!!!

But he's 36 years old so Mark Cuban can have him if he needs to stiffen up the ole' Dallas Defense a lil'. I hear he is another stick boy. Geez, he would go great with the other stick boy!!!!

Seriously though, does anyone have pics of this dude. I wanna see what he looks like on the court and how close he is to the rim.
