I don't know if there are any fans of Democracy Now here, but I thought I'd let any of you know that Amy Goodman is going to be in Houston on Friday at Diverse Works. She'll be giving a speech on "Independent Media in the Time of War". Should be pretty interesting. Here's KPFT's info page on it. Anyone else planning on going?
I would love to go.... must check my busy schedule first... My co-worker and I both listen on KPFT 90.1FM at 9 am in Houston....
Did anyone else go to this. I was blown away. Better than I expected, and I had HIGH expectations. There must have been 300 people there at least. Diverse Works was packed!! Amy began speaking at around 8:20 and began the Q+A with the audience at around 9:30. It ended around 11:10. Remarkable woman, and the best darned reporter out there. Her experiences in Timor in the 90s were truly remarkable.
