I do not know when or if it may happen but this kid has star potential and this is the kind of piece we need to add to give ourselves trade pieces in the frontcourt like we have compiled in the back court. Here is the espn insider link Worthwhile Investment? Jul 2 - Amir Johnson is a restricted free agent now and the Pistons have said they would match whatever he is offered. But they have more pressing free agent issues, starting with locking up Chauncey Billups. If the Rockets offered a contract that starts at $3 million, maybe $3.5 million, could a team with Rasheed Wallace, Antonio McDyess and Jason Maxiell at the position match as an investment? If the Rockets cannot land someone they would want to take their mid-level, this could be a worthwhile investment. If they were awarded a high first round pick, and Johnson was the best available, they would give that kind of cash to a young, talented project happily. -- Houston Chronicle
Amir would be awesom. potentially he could easily better then someone like wilcox or mikki moore who all want or have pretty blooated contracts.
Amir is a very good choice for backup PF/C. We can afford the 3.5mil, so if he flunks the PF he can still play the C. Now if only we could entice Chauncey to S&T and come over here along with Amir. Wow.
This thread is an example of the type of thread that has become a problem here. 1. No link. 2. Crediting a source that isn't the real source. ESPN Insider and RealGM are constantly credited here for pasting 2-3 paragraphs from a newspaper. In this case, this is nothing more than Jonathan Feigen's blog speculating about Amir Johnson, who we already knew was one of several Rocket targets from the Fox report. 3. Terrible thread title. "Amir soon to be a Rocket?". Where does it say that?
