Carrie Underwood won. I though Bo Bice was much better, personally. I think he got jobbed. That performance with Bo and Lynyrd Skynyrd was amazing. Just awesome.
I just tuned in right after Lost finished and I was dissapointed. That chick doesn't even move on stage, she just stands there, stiff as a board. But a country singer makes sense from a money making perspective in these red state times. I know Simon did everything he could to sway the vote.
Carrie Underwood is sexy! Both of them will get record deals but I mean you don't really hear much from the other American Idol winners after this other then the exception, Clarkson it's a jip yeah that Alabama performance was awesome
Nah, "Sweet Home Alabama", with Lynard Skynyrd. Although, "Mountain Music" might have been a good choice too.
Wow...if only the general population was as informed about politics and government as much as they are in "American Idol", then Bush wouldn't be serving a 2nd term. I guess I'm glad the chick won. Bo Dice was too much "Sweet Home, Alabama"-ish for me.
Both Bo and Carrie were great. Kelly Clarkson is still the best, but I think the best career may be Josh Grayson. DD
Thank God this show is done for a little while, at least. When this was on, the girlfriend is pretty much hypnotized. Her and her friends plan out watching this sh##. Though, as an aside, I saw more American Idol this last few weeks than I have since it began. As such, seeing the chick win pretty much solidified for me that the whole thing is as rediculous as I believed it to be.
None of the finalists are really losers. Carrie won the recording contract. Bo will get a recording contract....there is no doubt. The others will join them on a tour and may get recording contracts of their own.
I was disappointed that Bo didn't win, but I'm happy for Carrie. I really enjoyed this season and I'm sorry that it's over. Whenever Bo comes out with an album, I'll probably buy it. I couldn't say that about any other Idol contestant, past or present.
Absolutely agree about Carrie's stage presence. And when she does moves, she either does shoulder shrugs or sticks out her free hand like the Marx Brothers. I'm surprised the judges rarely criticized it which makes me think they wanted her to win all along.
This show is fixed. Bo has been the favorite on an MSN poll for the past six weeks. As of yesterday, the new poll had Bo with a 56% advantage. This was with 120,000 responses. That is a huge margin. Also, I called Bo's three lines every thirty minutes after the show was over. It was busy the entire 4 hours. All three lines. I tried Carrie's first line after two hours. Got right through. Technically, I called Bo's lines 24 times. I got through once. This show needs a new way to vote, or I'm not going to pay attention, anymore. I truly feel that American Idol knew that Bo would be successful. They made Carrie the winner because then they could put out two recording artists, much the same way they did with Ruben and Clay. Clay whooped Ruben's ass when it came to record sales. Bo will kick Carrie's ass, also. And then we'll know that the voting on this show is a sham.
Some of you clearly underestimate the amount of American Idol-watching country music fans in the U.S. I honestly don't think Bo wanted to be the American Idol, as he'd never live down the cheesy title. During Tuesday's performance, he was totally coasting and seemed out of it, like he wanted to do enough to make the show a competition... but not enough to actually win the damn thing. But, having said that, I can understand the grumbling and conspiracy talk. I mean, geez, did FOX really want a 29-year old American Idol with a history of drug use?
