This is really embarassing, but I love watching American Idol. I'm sure that I'm not the only one out there that likes to watch. I don't ever vote, but I enjoy the performances and the critiques that follow. I especially like it when the judges give good reviews of the performances. I just started watching last year and I really got into it toward the end, but this is the first time that I've really watched it from the beginning. From what I can tell from tonight, the guys are really strong. Last week, the guys were mostly boring with boring songs, but this week was much better. From the beginning, I was pulling for the "rocker" guys because they were different from what I had seen on the American Idol before. I was mostly pulling for Constantine because I thought that he had the more modern rock look. After last week and tonight, I've decided that Constantine is probably the weakest singer of all the guys there. The other "rocker" guy, Bo, blew me away singing some Allman Brothers. His performance literally gave me chills. I was happy that the judges all gave him good props for his performance. He performed really well last week too. I hope that the voters can keep him going. It would be a shame if not. Anyway, I hadn't seen an American Idol thread and I figured that I'd start one for anyone else out there that likes the show. I know that a lot of people think it sucks, but I love it.
I absolutely hate that show, but I've been watching it this year. I mean, who knows when they'll have another guy singing Whipping Post on there again? The guy Constantine does have a weak voice. When I heard the band start up Hard to Handle, I thought "this ought to be good" but his voice isn't anything special. Bo Bice on the other hand, should be declared the winner already. If he gets voted off, I won't watch anymore. Oh, and if he wins, I think he'd be the first Idol who actually plays instruments guitar/bass/piano, and can write his own music.
Simon Cowell should shot up with heroin and tied to a streetlight on Hollywood Boulevard, and Paula Abdul should be Kirstie Alley's costar on "Fat Actress". Yes, I find American Idol to be extremely disgusting.
I must confess I do watch it from time to time. I like Bo and he did a really good job las night, he doesnt seem to fit the criteria of past winners and it would be nice to see him win.
The running joke between my wife and I is that Bo Bice looks exactly like Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer. "I'm just a simple caveman. This strange sound distortion stick in front of me frightens and confuses me..."
I think it will end up being Underwood vs. Vasquez in the end. I can't stand Constatine. Bo Bice is ok. It's obvious who the judges favor. You can believe that America is voting for the winner, but I don't think so. I heard a few lemons last week, but the chicks were hot so they stayed. This year a guy will win it.
Vazquez is lame and a bit corny. He just doesn't come off as real to me (boy band). I hope he doesn't win. Anwar and Bo are the most interesting guys so far. I like Carrie Underwood for the girls and the girl with the big hair.
Except for Bo and Anwar, I get the feeling you can find dopplegangers of practically all of those guys at every high school talent show in the country.
It's so bad it's good. My wife and I watch to laugh. I've always liked watching the first beginning try outs, they are pretty funny. I haven't watched it all the way through since the first season. My wife is hooked this year again though, so I'll probably see a lot if it.
The judges have been on Vasquez' jock both weeks, but ya'll are right that he just doesn't seem real enough. I like Bo for his very real sound. He doesn't have a bunch of annoying runs that show off his singing, but he comes across as very real. I don't really like his look though.
I am the same way. The only time I watch this show is the beginning tryouts. Some of these people are so awful that you almost think that they can't be seriously thinking they are going to make it.
It's kind of weird that this Constantine guy would be on there. I looked up his band and even though they aren't super stars or anything, they've played the Viper Room, the Whiskey A Go Go, and CBGB's which aren't places you'd find amatures. http://www.prayforthesoulofbetty.com/
I think the embarassment is not from liking the show, but because I like it so much. Like housewives like soap operas. Another show that I really like is The Practice. I don't even know if it's still making new shows or not because I rarely get to catch primetime TV, but I watch it every Sunday night at 11:00. I'm always looking forward to the next episode.
I only watched the auditions, and all the process before the real show, i dont like the show. The auditions are very funny, is the best part of the show
I don't know why, but I don't really enjoy watching the girls sing. There were maybe two that I liked, but I don't really remember which ones. I'm sure eventually one or two will really stick out for me, but for now, I'm more interested in how the guys do. That being said, there are some really cute girls this year. That helps alot.
