Wow. I just got into this show, and though this guy was portrayed as a real hard ass (especially to his hot little assistant), I was shocked when I read this, considering that he's 33.

Authorities investigating death of casino executive
    July 7, 2004, 12:48 PM EDT

HENDERSON, Nev. -- Authorities were investigating the death of a Las Vegas area casino executive featured in The Discovery Channel's "American Casino" television series.

Michael Tata, 33, was found dead Tuesday morning at his Henderson home. Police and the Clark County coroner's office were investigating, but a police spokesman said there were no initial signs of foul play.

Tata became vice president of hotel operations in January at Station Casinos' Green Valley Ranch hotel-casino. He was a 1996 graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and began working at the Henderson casino in June 2001.

He moved to Las Vegas in 1993 from Buffalo, N.Y.

He was the one who bossed around the hot little brunette in marketing. He wanted the "tacky" radio station signs pulled down during the outdoor concert, and he went "overboard" in redesigning the towel hut for the pool area.

He seemed like a real slave driver always after perfection...

I wonder if they'll edit the show to pay respects.

I must not remember him then.

I thought he was the guy that worked with the brunette (who was in charge of the hotel part it). He was her boss, but it was on the hotel side of things. Her name is Ninya (http://media.dsc.discovery.com/fansites/americancasino/bios/bios.html)

They had an episode where they couldn't get some sheet right, so they made the staff work an extra day.

You are right Codell. There is no hot brunette in marketing, Wayne runs marketing. Ninya was like upper middle management of the Hotel and Tata was her boss.

Man, I just got into this show this pas weekend when they had the marathon. I can't believe this guy is dead, I hope we find out what happened soon.

Ill have to watch one of the reruns this weekend to see for sure. But I am pretty sure thats him. He was good friends with the marketing/PR guy (the one who was acting like an ass/lush at the Playboy party)

Maybe that one guy, who was pissed about having to work that 6th day, did him in ..............

No, I was wrong... both of you guys are right. Wayne is in marketing and Tata was in hotel management, boss of Ninya, who was the hotel manager.

I went to the show's web site to get a picture, but he's already been removed!

    Sorry for causing the confusion.

Yeah, I went there last night and didn't see his bio. I thought maybe he just wasn't a big part of the show.

    Makes sense now.

He was my favorite character b/c I loved the relationship between him and Ninya. It was so flirty, yet somewhat innocent. Kinda odd...

Watching the way he stressed over every little detail, he probably died from cardiac arrest.

Starting to look like new shows on the Discovery channel are a bad omen.

I don't know if any of you have been following this new show on the Discovery Channel called "Wing Nuts".....started a few weeks ago, and they are showing the 4th episode tonight.

One of the main guys on the show, Tim Roberts, died suddenly a couple of days ago.

I believe Tatta from American Casino also died after their 3rd episode.

    sad

    I liked the Tim guy.
