LOL directly at the people who are like "iTs G lEaGuE, i DoNt ReSpEcT" read that fuggin stat line again.

You don't have to act self righteous about not watching the GL, it's on at noon. I guarantee like maybe 6 of you have ever dropped 29 points in a game OR 16 rebounds OR 11 ast this guy did it in one game y'all. It's not the NBA but it's no rec league either.

    Just incredible.

I've never played a GLeague game where I didn't have at least 29-16-11

    Just FYI

The G-league is a place for negative assessment. If you are mediocre there, you have no hope. If you are great there, we still don't know if you can be good on the NBA level.

All I know is that Amen looks like Teen Wolf out there - looks raw as hell but still drop triple double stat lines.

If Amen manages to dribble the ball three times without it going out of bounds, he ends up with a dunk or some version of a Dr. J layup.

He could a dozen rebounds in a wheelchair.

I don't care if it's G league. Seeing him take those jumpers confidently is great. I think his form looks pretty smooth too.

Ausar has been coming off the bench now for Pistons. The margin for their losses has been closer when Thompson doesn't start. Pistons was (and still is having) problems with spacing. It's hard to hide some of their weakness when their other players aren't good.

Pistons fans are saying things like Monty doesn't hide Ausar well, like on the weak side, for cuts, and to counter his bad 3's. Even when teams would let guys like Stewart shoot 3's , at least Stew is making his low volume at an ok percentage. Avoid Thompson to be parked on the strong side of the perimeter as the outlet 3. There's Detroit things Rocket coaches can look at: to use and avoid doing when Amen's here. Monty is likely correct to use Ausar as a wing than a playmaker.

Our spacing isn't great either...But it's possible to rely more on cuts and transition off of defensive turnovers, and stagger with the starters. Consider let Aaron handle the ball and treat Amen as a wing. See if some of Amen athleticism can be used to finish strong under the basket.

Playmaking is one of the hardest jobs to learn. Instead of just giving the job (because of draft archetypes), I'd still like to see them earn the shot of doing so first. It's not just making reads, but having a handle for a taller wing and keeping turnovers low when under ball pressure.

Ime is still trying to win games here.

I know man but the sad reality I'm coming to realize is GLeague is just an exhibition game. Look at Scoot in GLeague vs Scoot in the NBA. These players don't really play a lot of defense or take it seriously cuz they wanna blow up their stats. Like the other poster said it's really more for negative assessment, if you don't blow up then you might be a bust. If you put up 20-20s, it's hard to say if you are really that good or a Hartenstein/Darius Days/Trevelin Queen.

Reality is that Amen probably will struggle with three point shooting in the NBA just like Ausar. Although anecdotally, I remember hearing before the draft that despite the in-game results, Amen was the better shooter in practice. Don't know if that's worth anything. Just keep in mind that three point shooting is pretty noisy in small sample sizes, as we've seen with Dillon Brooks to start this season, and they only played 16 games in the OTE regular season.

They've also been working under different shooting coaches and in an entirely different team environment since signing. So there is some room for divergent outcomes here. (Not to mention that yes, despite being twins, they are in fact different people.)

Also, by the same token, Amen was much better at finishing around the rim than Ausar in OTE. I think that's where the "slightly better athleticism" thing comes into play.

I'm interested to see what Amen's efficiency ends up looking like when he returns. Comparing and contrasting him and his brother will be one of the more intriguing meta-narratives for me this season.

Imagine adding a capable playmaker to those lineups that feature neither Sengun or Fred.

Exactly. Soon as he adjusts to NBA speed, he is a game changer to our bench. Hopefully, that occurs sooner rather than later. I will continue to bang the drum for a legit backup center. Sengun goes off the court we rarely break even. We cannot wear this guy out. We don’t have time to wait on Jock. Making the playoffs in the West is tough. Hell, making the play-in is tough.

100%. Jarrett Allen is perfect for what we want to do and the Cavs would be interested in offloading him. It'd have to be a 3 way trade though as we don't have any players they'd want.
