Amen is going to be a Star ⭐️, he is jump shot away. Great defender, high IQ player and have the athleticism to get to the basket.

Amen should play in the G-League with Cam and Samuels until Udoka thinks he's ready to play NBA basketball. Ditto for Cam.

 

I think Ime already thinks Amen is ready for NBA basketball. He was getting significant minutes before his injury and was already playing good defense and getting rebounds. He also showed indications that the game was slowing down for him. It’s not like Holiday has made the case for being the long-term backup Pg for this team. He might go down to RGV for some physical re-habilitation, but not because he is not mentally ready for the NBA.

 

“I think he’s progressing nicely, doing more on the court,” Udoka said. “Got a little bit of his burst back. Still a ways to go. He’s got some hurdles to clear. Obviously, hasn’t done any contact, yet. That’ll be the next step for him.

Udoka said that when Thompson is cleared he will likely play with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, the Rockets’ G League affiliate, before playing with the Rockets. The Vipers play Thursday and Friday at home, but then are off until Dec. 6.

I know we need him for the 2nd unit so he can take over for Holiday, but it's best he get those reps with the Vipers and then ease his way back into the rotation.
