I'm looking for some ambient, light or dream techno. I guess similar to Robert Miles, but I'm mainly searching for some techno without words.

    Thanks.

Sasha's Airdrawndagger is one of my personal favorites. No lyrics, just a lot of ambient sound to it that's pretty good. I'm a big fan of Sasha and Digweed though.

Trance - can't go wrong with either Paul Oakenfold or Paul Van Dyck (sp?); however, I don't know if they are really "ambient". When I think of ambient techno, I think of The KLF's album, "Chill Out" and The Orb.

Yea, I thought about mentioning Mr. James but he is a little heavy. But you can't go wrong with his Selected Ambient Works 85-92. As for Volume II, that's a different story, lol.

Haha. I just remembered that Tranceport album by Oakenfold - damn was that some good stuff!

I can't believe that I haven't mentioned him until now but Brightside, you might want to check into some of Brian Eno's ambient stuff. Roxy Music's original keyboardist is considered by many to be the Godfather of ambient music. Also look into listening to "Oxygene" by Jean Michel Jarre.

    I listen to the "D I G I T A L L Y - I M P O R T E D - European Trance, Techno, Hi-NRG... we can't define it!" Shoutcast radio channel on Winamp alot while at work.

I think "ambient techno" might be a oxymoron. :D

Yea, I think it is. It really isn't the "drill and bass" stuff that would be on later Aphex Twin albums like "The Richard James Album" - more like the stuff on "I Care Because You Do". It is soft music with a huge beat to it.
