Anyone else watching this season? I am totally riveted by these shows...I started with season 12, need to go back and watch the first 11... DD
My wife and I are TAR fans (The Amazing Race, for those in the know) and have been watching since season 1. The show is always very, very good, because of several factors: 1. Consistency: go back and watch TAR 1, and it's almost completely unchanged from TAR 14. They haven't messed with the formula, and it keeps working. 2. Casting: they've tried to avoid blatant fame-whores and grandstanders, and have, for the most part, succeeded. 3. Editing: the editing crew from this show never gets the attention they deserve. They do a really masterful job of keeping the show exciting and, at the same time, fun. 4. Scenery: it's just really fascinating to see so many diverse parts of the world. I've been enjoying this season quite a bit, though some of my favorite teams have been eliminated. I guess at this point, I want Tammy and Victor to win it all.
I like this show, but too much airtime is of the airports from around the world, rather than the sites and sounds from the actual places they go.
I'm watching some of it this season but I'm always studying on Sunday nights. Who were eliminated last night?
I have been enjoying The Amazing Race as well. My wife and I love this show. Along with Survivor as well... I think Victor and Tammy are really annoying... I think the dwarfs keep making the kinds of mistakes that seem to have caught up with them. A 4 hour penalty plus the additional roadblock. It appears they are done. It seems the deaf guy is really going to be called out on the next episode and I am glad. He seems to have it coming from the brief scences they showed. I am pulling for the two sisters from Louisville... They have really kept it together even during some times of crisis.
We love this show too. Only thing that drives me crazy every week is the fact that all the teams always end up on the same plane. What good is the advantage of starting before the other teams when you all just end up on the same plane?? Those bimbo cheerleaders need to go home asap. They are making all of us Americans look bad. Yelling and clapping at people like they're training dogs.
They were so stupid for leaving their bags with their passports and money and knowing they were doing it. One of the sisters said she didn't say anything about turning around because she didn't want to start any confrontation. One of them didn't have shoes the whole time because of that. They were lucky the midgets were just as, or more dense than they were. That being said, I want the "brothers" out. And I can't remember what season I started. Maybe 5, but my family loves watching the show. What I hate about the show is when someone in the cab says something stupid or insulting, the camera always has to show the cab driver look up or look back. I doubt that scene was taken right after they said that or else they have two cameramen in one seat with camera pointed at the driver and the contestants. And sometimes they use the same scene of the driver in a part of the show.
the smegs are addicted the amazing race, it and has always been our favourite reality show, the sheep loving host Phil does a great job and they usually get a great mix of likeable, hatable, whack job participants.... our only request is that they do less of the pre-booking of flights and let the contestants work it out more for themselves, and tried to set up times where there are multiple flying options to the next place as the all of the same flight is a little boring....
I just started watching this show this season. Victor and Tammy - They are lawyers, they have enough money, so I don't see why they should win the million dollars. The stunt men - cocky punks. can't stand them. Cheerleaders - I wanted them to win (thought they were hot) until one of them started getting annoyed by anyone who couldn't speak the same language, what a beeoch. Louisville girls - These two are the only ones who are worth supporting, even though they were really dumb to leave their stuff behind in the last episode, they showed they were going to take losing with maturity....which is awesome. THe son and mother - They totally side swiped the young couple when they were not in any danger, too shady for me.
I love this show,it is so intense and full of dramma.I am looking forward to the next three episode when teams start to race in China.
Luke is a whiny little kid. He's playing the deaf kid role card way too often. Apparently Margie fainted because Luke wanted them to save money and not buy any water or food during legs. He's in tears about proving that deaf people can do well on the race, but his mom does everything. Did anyone else notice that Luke did absolutely nothing in the last episode? His mom did the roadblock, and then fitted all 5 dentures at the detour.
We love Amazing Race too, IMO next to American Idol it's the best "reality show" on TV. I'm not really pulling for any one team just yet, but I think Victor and Tammy have it locked up.. I don't know if I've never seen such a strong team (if you can call them that) Tammy mostly just sits there while Victor does the work.. Oh and that 4 hour penatly was just way too over the top for the brothers IMO.. Also, does anyone else think Michael looks like a tiny Steve Nash?
I've watched a handful of seasons. BetterThanI is absolutely right about the great editing and scenery. I'm having a hard time rooting for a team this year though. Last season, the brother sister duo absolutely decimated the field. They won the majority of the stages and of course the whole thing by miles. They were smart, in shape, non-drama queens, nice, prepared, and played fair. Maybe the ratings were down, but they decided to really put dysfunctional teams on this year. Every team left has major flaws that really annoy: -The Asian brother-sister lawyers are okay. The girl is nice, but the guy is too controlling, stubborn, and half manly when doing the mechanical tasks. -The red head girls are annoying as hell. One of them is nice, but the other totally b****es out on ANYONE who doesn't speak English. She admits her own problems and so does her partner, but damn control yourself woman! She's talking down to everyone like they're idiots and she deserves to get thrown out the car. -The little stunt men brothers are okay, but really oblivious. They border on funny because of their mistakes, to obnoxious. They've said some pretty offensive things this season, but you almost can't take them seriously because of how they look. -The black basketball sisters are okay, but they go through so much tension vs. each other that it destroys their team. They're just not good as a team. -And then there's the deaf guy and his mom. His mom is awesome, but he is a total jerk. He is dead weight on the team and that has nothing to do with his deafness and everything to do with his idiocy. He makes his mom do most of the tasks, and I'm talking about no hearing needed physical labor. He gets frustrated really quickly and quits and then has constantly blamed his mom for her decision making when she's been carrying him the whole time. And then he blind U-turns the nice athletic couple when he and his mom were way ahead. It wasn't a life saving move, but a jerk move by kicking the weak when they're down and you're up. The dude just needs to be punched in the face.
They put the wrong deaf contestant on this show. I would NOT play the deaf card like he is doing right now. It is really annoying me that he's making us look bad. I hope he redeems himself next show! He can do it without his mother babying him. Geez!!
Anybody catch the finale last night? I was cool with the brother and sister winning it. Of the 3 remaining teams, they were probably the least annoying (aside from the brother crying a few episodes ago). I thought it was ironic that the deaf guy choked away their chance at winning the whole thing by throwing a little hissy fit when he couldn’t figure out that last surfboard. Kind of sums up the whole season for him. I think if the Mom would have done that task (like all the others) they could have pulled it out. They had a huge lead, but the deaf guy’s hissy cost them the game. The cheerleaders kind of had a costly hissy fit as well. And it cost them. The brother and sister kept their composure and that ended up being the reason they won. BTW, did anyone else notice that the leaders had like a 6 hour head start….and YET AGAIN, they all ended up on the same flight to Maui? That happened in almost every episode this season. Next season, they need to do something about that. What’s the point of having a lead if you all end up on the same flight?? Other than that, a pretty entertaining show.
