Amare has such a thin lower base, even compared to Hakeem at that age. That's difficult to establish position down low and play back to the basket.

Don't even know why his shorts are rolled up. Is he trying to show off his legs or something. But Amare is a clown with the S/O to Lin.

hakeem is just straight robbing these dudes lol none of them will ever have dream's footwork due to the fact that NONE OF THESE GUYS PLAYED SOCCER GROWING UP.

That's the missing ingredient. Soccer requires greater athletic skill than basketball or american football. That's where Hakeem's world class agility (when it comes to big men at least) came from & what what made those moves post possible.

That's why there's never been another hakeem olajuwon or even a copy cat version while there's been plenty of poor man's version of MJ like kobe.

If that was the only case, why don't we see more big men making the transition from soccer to basketball? They would make tons more money in the NBA than they would playing soccer.

Truth is, Hakeem was just a freak. His quickness combined with his size give him the ability to do things that most people at his size can't do. Even if other people his size did play soccer, they wouldn't be able to do it.

What are you defining as "athletic skill?" Seems like a terribly subjective statement to make.

Even Hakeem can't fix Amare's matador defense.

It's interesting that in his autobiography, Dream talks more about his experiences with Team Handball than soccer.

Dream was just a freak of an athlete. I think the whole soccer meme may have a little validity, but is way overblown.

I honestly love how this is gonna turn out:

Amare "Yo Felton gimme da ball imma show you my dreamshake"
Melo snatches the ball out of Felton's hand. Turned around and start backing up Lebron. Faded way shot and Bosh got the rebound.
Amare "SOB imma punch another fire extinquisher!"

What does he say at the end of the video? Something city? Try to find something nowhere to be found?
