They'd better be. Because while all this talk has circulated about the potential 2010 availability of LeBron, D-Wade and Bosh, they are not alone on that list. Asked whether he thinks about his own availability in 2010, Stoudemire didn't hesitate: "Absolutely! You have to look at those opportunities because this is a business and you want to explore every option. I guarantee you every owner will explore their options, especially when a player's contract is up. So it's the same for players. It's definitely the same for me. "As a player, you should look at the teams you might want to play for. The city you may want to live in. The system you may want to play in. The economy. The cost of living. Everything. It's about what's best for you." Are you listening, Phoenix? Rest assured, 29 other teams certainly are. The Rest of the Story... Just my 2cents but (ofcourse Lebron would be the biggest upgrade to any team) if Yao was to have PF buddy who can create 9 times outta 10 it would make Yao have more 1vs1 scenarios which ofcourse can be better. Bosh or Amare anyone? Your guys thoughts? Only posting cause I see Lebron talks everyone and not much Bosh or Wade. PS How do you post a damn pic??? I wanted to post a pic of Amare with his NY hat, OMG.
That's a very intriguing thought, although if by 2010 we still haven't gotten past the 1st round, I think a lot of potential free agents will be scared of the failure of the Rockets and avoid signing with us. I mean, 'the opposite of that is the very reason why we got Barry, Bonzi, Swift to sign with us, because they thought we were going to be contenders, but if the Rockets look like their failing, I think our chances of signing a big name free agent in 2010 will be slim.
Amare needs Nash, he is good but not as good as he looks because he gets a lot of easy baskets because of Nash. DD
My initial 2 cent take: 1 Amare is whining now because Shaq takes up the floor space he's used to occupying. The problem will be just as bad with Yao (or maybe worse in 2 years when Yao will be even slower than he is now). 2 Amare has a serious attitude problem and is extremely selfish, beyond that of a normal superstar. His ego and feelings are something the Suns have to spend a lot of time managing. 3 I know the micro-fracture surgery seems to be very successful, but I'm scared to death something will re-occur and his career will be cut short. I wouldn't want to guarantee him $100+ million. LeBron, Wade and Bosh are the top dogs for 2010 in a class by themselves. Amare is upset he isn't included in the discussions on the same level as those guys. I'm not saying Terry Porter is managing the Suns well, but Amare needs to go suck his thumb for a while until he feels better.
Damn, since you put it that way, I hate to agree. I am just really hoping to get a big name PF by 2010 (by big name I not only mean a Superstar but someone who is 6'10 or bigger). I am worried Bosh will extend which is why I didn't bother to really mention him. Any other big men coming out 2k10?
World class athletes aren't scared of failure. Crappy athletes aren't scared of failure. How do you think AAA baseball teams even exist?
Thus another reason why Amare should be looking to bolt. Nash will be 2 years older and he's already shown signs of decline.
Its not that, because he can score without nash. The issue is, he doesn't do anything other than score. He doesn't set up his teammates and he doesn't play defense. He is the most statistically misleading player i've ever seen. He'll drop 30 but allow the opposing team to run a muck in the suns' paint, basically counseling out what he's accomplished. He's basically a rich man's Zach Randolph. I'd much rather have Bosh, may not be as exciting but a much better basketball player imo.
Bosh's game fits much better with Yao than Amare. If Bosh keeps up his level of play for this entire season and next, he will clearly outshine Amare. Not being on the Olympic team has really taken Amare out of the limelight while being on the Olympic team seems to have vaulted Bosh to another level.
Moot point I think. I don't see why any max free agent would want to come here to play with Yao. He will be 30 and is already on the decline.
The poor baby wants to be the featured player. You have to better then that to be compared to Wade or Lebron. I wouldn't want him on my team. He seems like a selfish guy and like what has been said before, Nash makes him what he is.
Amare continues to try and increase his profile in the 2010 discussions and put pressure on Terry Porter to focus the offense more on him. http://www.eastvalleytribune.com/story/131585 Stoudemire stands by comments on free agency JERRY BROWN, TRIBUNE Two years away from free agency, Suns forward AmaréStoudemire stood by his comments in a recent ESPN.com article in which he said he has no preference where he plays when it comes time to test the market. "I don't ever say anything that I regret," Stoudemire said. "I'm not that kind of guy." Stoudemire said in the article that he wants to be the focal point of the Suns and he wasn't sure if new coach Terry Porter's system is a means to that end. He also said he thinks about 2010, when he can join LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade - three players he identified as "featured guys" - in a star-studded free agency class. "Absolutely! You have to look at those opportunities, because this is a business and you want to explore every option," Stoudemire said. "I guarantee you every owner will explore their options, especially when a player's contract is up. So it's the same for players. It's definitely the same for me. "As a player, you should look at the teams you might want to play for. The city you may want to live in. The system you may want to play in. The economy. The cost of living. Everything. It's about what's best for you." When told that fans have taken his words to mean he is eyeing a move out of Phoenix, Stoudemire said: "I have no idea. I have no clue. It will play out how it plays out. Nostradamus is long gone, and there is no one else who can predict the future right now. You never know how it ends up." Does that mean he has no preference when it comes to staying or leaving? "No, I really don't," he said. "I just want to win. I just want to win. I'm just trying to improve as a player. As a team, we're trying to get better. That's the main focus right now, to improve." Stoudemire had a strong effort in Sunday's loss to New Jersey, finishing with 25 points and 12 rebound and showing more offensive aggression - which was rewarded with 12 trips to the free-throw line, 10 of them in the first quarter. But he wasn't around for the home stretch after being ejected with a second technical foul with 3:24 left to play after arguing a traveling call. "My frame of mind was to attack and do whatever it takes for us to win," he said. "We just fell a little short." The Suns are now 4-5 at home - their worst start at US Airways Center since starting the 2003-04 season 6-7. "We still have work to do," Stoudemire said. "We're still trying to improve and figure it out as a team. I love my teammates, and they've been totally upbeat even though it's been kind of difficult. But we are still together and working to get better."
