Amare Stoudemire scored 49 points, falling a point short of his career high in the Phoenix Suns’ 113-103 victory over Indiana on Wednesday night. Stoudemire was 17-for-21 from the field, made 15 free throws without a miss and had 11 rebounds, six assists and five steals. He just missed his career high of 50 points, set against Portland on Jan. 2, 2005. Impressed?
No, I am more impressed with Parker's 55. But hell, he got 55, it was phenomenal and I am shocked, but look, San Antonio had big problems with who? With Minnesota. That means something. Tony won't score 55 evey night, he won't even score 30. They were lucky but I just see this team sucking this year. At least I hope so.
did he play any defense or did he allow the pacers to run a muck in the paint as usual? Amare is an amazing offensive talent but they have no chance to win it all until he fixes that.
Amare was a beast out there. Hitting jumpers, dropping dimes, taking it in the paint. There are not many players that can guard him once he puts the ball on the floor.
Haha, liar... I don't like the guy but that level of efficiency is definitely impressive. If Yao had that kind of game, we'd be calling for the MVP trophy and a statue. I want to see the shot chart. If he was even hitting perimeter jumpers, then damn. It's easy to imagine him scoring 50 all down low under the basket against a frail rookie Euro pf.
I forgot they did those. Thanks! I use yahoo because it always seems to load quicker compared to sites with all those embedded videos and plugins. Very interesting indeed. Since when did Amare take 3's?
Shot clock was running down twice on both threes. Neither was a legit attempt. He only mised one legit attempt( he had to rush a quick jumper with the shot clock winding down in the 2nd quarter). The guy is unreal. It's scary because now he is posting up a lot more. He extends the defense with a jumper that's just as good as any big man in the game today and nobody is quick or athletic anough to guard him. All that being said, Phoenix will be good, but you se their faults. Nash is really slowing down and Shaq can't be effective for more then 25-30 minutes (and not at all on back to backs). They will be dangerous when Nash and Shaq expire and they can add another big name to play with Amare.
He was pretty much on fire from everywhere except for a few missed 3's. He was money even from 15-20 feet out. The guy reminded me just a tiny bit of a very early Hakeem from the early 90's especially with those goggles. Before you try and flame me... Obviously Hakeem was much more fierce on the defensive end and was a blocking machine in addition to his points/rebounds/passing ability but just in terms of offensive game, speed, size, athleticism, strength, ability to put the ball on the floor, coordinations and fluidity. Once again I must mention that I'm treading lightly because Hakeem to me and many of the rest on this board and some in the basketball world is the best center in the league EVER but Amare is just about to turn 26 and Hakeem didn't develop his "clutchness" until later in his career. If Amare can improve on the defensive end and develop a go to move ala "Dreamshake/fadeway" which Hakeem didn't develop until later in his career and dominate other big men in the playoffs, win an MVP, finals mvp, win a ring or two.... he could go down in the history as one of the great big men. A tall order for sure but it's possible and if I were to choose any player to come close it would be Amare.
Amare flops, Refs hit Diener with a tech. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/6_GprgllJq8&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/6_GprgllJq8&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
People say he didn't play any defense, but what about the 5 steals? He delivered 6 assists as well. I know its the Suns offense and there's more possessions per game out there, but that's a pretty complete game. I know he feeds off Nash but thats a MVP statement game right there.
