Obviously we all are praying that Bosh loves him some humidity and no state tax, but not many people are talking about the trade that almost was. Numerous sources reported that a trade was in place, but Phoenix wanted us to wave the physical. Reason I mention this is because I believe Amare might end up being the more likely thing to happen. If we loved him then, we sure will love him when Bosh decides to play with one of his butt buddies! Thoughts?

100% sure they will be asking for the pair of Wildcats if Amare does want to come here. But anyways, if those rumors were true, I still can't believe the Rockets didn't pull the trigger cause they would of had his bird rights and even though he looks stupid, he isn't that stupid to leave 30 mill on the table.

Is Amare worth the max dollar? I'm not too sure about that.

I'd say his max is better than having Bosh for max.

According to Chad Ford on the BS Report today, the Amar'e rumor was 100% true. I personally believe that Amar'e would walk at the end of the season; I don't think he's given one inclination to ever want to be here (for that matter, neither has Bosh) Especially now with so many teams with max cap room, and more importantly, a need to spend it on too few free agents, the leverage for S&Ts is greatly reduced; maybe the Rockets give up 2 Knicks picks, Scola and Battier, and when Stoudemire walks, they get Michael Beasley? Yi Jian Lian? Luol Deng? A pick in the 20s? That's David Kahn-level asset management.

Pass. He does not belong to the Rockets' "culture".

really? i think amare is just a more athletic carl landry. we don't even know if he can create his own shot, and his defense and iq are questionable.

id be much happier with bosh

With a Steve Nash, Amare was a 23-9 guy.

Luis Scola is a 16-9 guy at half the cost with Hill and Patterson backing him up.

Honestly, its hard for me to make the case for any Max Money PF at this point, Bosh or Amare, when we are looking at Scola/Hill/Patterson -- I think we have too much potential talent in the young guys and a work horse veteran to make it worth while to utilize that cap space at a different position.

I agree Amare can dominate more than Bosh. We already have K-Mart we need a guy with a killer instinct like Amare. Not sure how he would fit in with the team chemistry wise. His attitude could be a problem at times.

bosh is a better offensive player than amare (better J, better ft shooter, better post up game). and bosh is a much better rebounder. amare is a better finisher around the rim. both are mediocre defensive players (but both haven't been under good defensive coaches). bosh would deserve the max moreso than amare.

LOL seriously? How about the fact that Amare's been propped up by Nash all these years. I don't even know if he can still create shots for himself! Couple that with his eye, age, bad attitude and his max contract and you have the next Rashard Lewis contract.

Also his game would interfere with Yao Ming. He couldn't work with Shaq, how can he work with someone even slower than him?

Honestly I'd rather see what we have in Hill, PP, Yao and Scola first before trading for Bosh or Amare. These guys would all cost the max, IMHO with the money we save from just their contract we can keep Scola, Yao, and either PP or Hill.

Its funny how some of Amar'es best numbers where pre injury when Shaq was on the team.

I know right. People like to say Amare didn't play well with Shaq, but he was loading up the STAT sheet when Shaq was there, as he played his more natural position.

This is just not correct at all. A sign and trade deal is worth millions more to a free agent than just signing a free agent contract out right. A sign and trade deal offers the free agent larger pay increase (10% vs. 12.5%) at more years and that is why they are so attractive to free agents. The number of teams with cap room has no effect on this fact.
