Sorry, hate to break it to you all, but after tonight it's clear we ain't winning **** other than a first round series and the mvp. Frankly I don't give a damn about a 2nd round attendance banner. James and I have shoved all our chips in the middle and we're all in for that trophy.

You all can claim it's about the team but we know there's no winning with that strategy this year...

Shove the chips in boys it's the only way for a return this year

Oh and **** that stat chaser Westbrook. He shouldn't be in the convo without a top 4 seed and 50+ wins like the beard

2nd round and MVP would amazing for what most NBA experts and Rockets fans expected out of this year.

Only one of the two would still be pretty good, but I'd rather a playoff win instead of the MVP. (It looks better.)

None of the two would be crushing as a Rockets fan. It would be devastating. Even if our expectations were low coming into the season. Winning about 55 games and getting the 3rd best overall record with Harden balling out all season... it would just hurt. To get sent home early and for Harden to lose the MVP... very little to take out of this season other than we're not good enough nor can Harden realistically win a MVP award ever in his life.

    1. 2nd round appearance and MVP
    2. 2nd round appearance
    3. MVP
    4. None

Kobe and Iverson might be only SG's with MVPs from last generation. They both only have 1. So yeah, I want an MVP more than anything.

Anything other than WCF appearance would be underwhelming, a first round exit would be devastating even.

Am I the only one who thinks that this is another stupid thread that could have gone in any other Harden for MVP thread?

The MVP and team success are not binary goals, despite what the media may want to tell you about Westbrook.

Hasn't this always been the case though? Even at their best, could they beat either G.S. or S.A. 4 times in the second round? Perhaps if they get hot from 3 for a sustained period, but honestly it's more likely that they lose in the first round than get out of the second.

Yes James is chasing a MVP. That is cute and all, but that isnt going to do anything for the Rockets come playoff time. If he is hurt and favoring his wrist then he will hurt us in the long term. The best thing would be to sit out this entire road trip, and then play almost a week+ later after we are back home. This way, you only miss 3 games, and then have another 6-7 games to get into game shape and still make your case for NBA MVP. I hope the Rockets take this approach, seems like the most logical, if they dont, and he gets hurt or doesnt heal then SHAME on this organization.

Here we go again, ok. Team success & James winning the MVP are RELATIVE. Beyond this postseason you can say that they're mutually exclusive.

    Why?

    Free agent destinations.

Ever since Dwight came, we've struck out on every (proven) star athlete. James Harden winning MVP changes that dramatically. Players want to play with a PROVEN superstar.

    So it's not about:

"Harden winning the MVP is what matters, forget the playoffs!"

    Or

"I don't care about the MVP, just win in the playoffs"

It's about making sure Harden wins the MVP & also making a deep playoff run.

I think the OP must be suffering from lack of sleep. Could a nap be called for? Take a nap, OP, and then get back to us. Not necessarily in this thread. Just a friendly suggestion.

lol. there are actually underwear design websites as it turns out, you could upload that image and have it printed on some underwear. Who knew.

Don't know if that link will survive once I shut the window down. But it can definitely be done. :D

on edit, that link only takes you to the design page, this is what it would look like. lol
