heck no. Alston is a good player, we cant win without him. even though he is not hitting his shots, his drives to the basket were really good and he's doing a good job at keeping his TOs down.
Alston is not bad, his shot is off, but he does some good things what I want to see is him playing 10-15 minutes less and keep Lucas or Span on the court for a little bit
it's only a matter of time for Lucas to start going crazy and mess up everything. I already saw signs of it when he kept dribbling for 20 seconds then passed it to Yao. this Kills me. why does he have to wait and show us his ball handling skills? he and Luther do the same thing. Luther doesn't do that as often now. lets hope Longoria's boy doesn't go off on us now. if he does, we need to get Vspan in to shut him down.
What scares me is that this is EXACTLY what happened last time. We kicked ass then they made our lead look like it was dust on a windshield. They wiped it off and accelerated right past us.
Rafer with a timely 3-pointer in response to Manu. Sure, they're 15 points behind, but just to let them know, it's OVER. It's so strange how he's MUCH better at hitting 3's late in the game.
Rafer really ought to be banned from shooting except in the 4th quarter. I don't really know what's up with him, it must be some sort of mental block.
At 12/4/9 tonight in addition to breaking the Spurs press in the 3rd quarter this thread should be dead. Very bad timing. Rename it the JL3 thread. Hope he gets 15 minutes next game too. Luther must have got a talking to by JVG about his capabilities. Looked like he made a special effort not to make dumb decisions, and the 11 assists were a big bonus. He actually played more minutes than Rafer. V-Span, Novak and Padgett can stay in Scrubsville, for now.
i really don't understand why people are so willing to forgive you just cuz he makes one or two threes at the end of the games. i'm always ticked off that he usually puts the rockets in a bad position in the first place by jacking up a bunch of bad shots in the first three quarters. i mean 2-7 and everyone's like whahoo, just cuz he makes the 2 in the forth quarter. in any case i'm happy we won.
Rafer needs to take less shots, but I don't think we have a choice. Opponents are leaving him open knowing that he's going to miss it more often than not. You have to take the shot in that situation, all you can do is practice the shot and hope you make it more often. Or trade for a better player, which I doubt can happen.
agreed... it's very difficult for me to like him until he becomes more consistent through out the whole game.
