Rafer has been pretty consistent. If the rox were to trade him, im moving to the city where he got traded to. I appreciate you RAFER.

He really does deserve a lot of credit for the way he has carried himself since the start of the season.

Rafer gets a lot of hate because of his inconsistencies, but he's been really good lately. If I recall right, Kenny Smith got quite a lot of hate in his day during our championship run...people loved him after the 3pt barage in that 1st game vs. Orlando in the finals, but before then people hated how he rarely penetrated and constantly got owned by the opposing point guard.

Rafer has his faults but he's the best we have right now and probably the best we could probably have given our salary constraints and lack of tradeable players. I wonder...who could we possibly get that would be a considerable upgrade over Rafer while not giving up everyone except Yao and Tmac? I don't think you'd see any names on that list...

Are you one of family member of Rafer? :D

Rafer is doing quite well lately, especially when Tmac is not playing, for whatever the reason.

IMO we need another PG, can't depend on Brooks.

Since good PGs almost never get traded, I think its live or die with Rafer this year. He has been playing pretty well as of late. So props to him for playing well despite getting so much hate, even from Rox fans.

Great he's unfazed and personally i don't want and never wanted him to be traded, i just feel a PG like Cassell could help out since he's incostent. Rafer as a starter or back-up, it doesn't matter but i don't think anybody wants to see him traded right ? If we get another PG we still need Rafer because Brooks is a rookie and when the playoffs come around we need some experience. Maybe Brooks can be like Cassell in his first year given the chance but it's too risky imo to trade Rafer and have Brooks & MJ as the other two PGs.

I hope if we don't get a new PG Rafer can get us where we need to go and even though i agree Kenny Smith was hated a lot, he was consistent and Rafer's not.

Skip is the ultimate X-factor. It seems as if he plays well we win and if he doesn't we struggle. We need this guy to play well almost as much as Yao and McGrady need to play well.

One thing I appreciate about Rafer is his ball handling ability...there's very few players that I would feel more comfortable with in a one cover full court press. Those skills are really underrated.

Hahahahaha, all this Rafer love is hilarious! Our Rockets have had such poor Point Guard play for so long that many have simply accepted Rafer. I still say that he is up there with the absolute worst starting PGs in the Western Conference. I'm not even going to count the ways why he is so bad, even you Rafer lovers know he is horrible. Blame TMAC and Yao all you want about the playoff losses, but I would submit that Rafer is the biggest reason the Rockets have been so bad in playoff games. Getting rid of Rafer and bringing in a Bibby or Cassell instantly upgrades this team for a serious playoff run.

Rafer is eaten alive by opposing PG's especially in the West. Nice kid, (except at clubs), good personality (except at clubs), good handles, average passer, inconsistent shooter/scorer. Gets under pressure and starts throwing them over the backboard. Faded big time in the playoffs last season. The team's greatest weakness, "we were exposed at PG," D. Morey after last year's playoffs. They brought in Francis, Brooks, James, and they all failed to beat him out. He is a fighter, but he is foolsgold. He would be great as a reserve.

Rafer does well in this offense when he doesnt take more than 10 or 12 shots per game. He has good work ethic, great handles, good speed and court vision, and a good working relationship with teammates. The amount Rafer hate on here is unwarranted, especially in proportion to the amount of love Chuck Hayes gets. Hayes was the weakest link in our starting 5 last year. Now that we have Scola and Landry to shoulder some of the scoring burden at the PF position, suddenly Battier and Alston are doing way better. If Tmac, Bonzi, Scola, Landry, and Battier continue to play at a high level and pull their own weight, I believe Rafer and Brooks will do just fine as our point guards.

In conclusion, GO RAFER!!! Turning them haters into believers.

Question is whether you have anything better than "foolsgold" now, and any realstic possiblity of obtaining better than "foolsgold" without hurting the teamelsewhere.

I think that statement was more in reference to our lack of depth at PG than a pointed attack on Rafer. Not that he didn't want to upgrade the starting PG spot, but the greater concern was just our lack of depth.
