That's what every thread devolves into. Here's an exercise, can McCain supporters lists reasons to vote for McCain, other than he's not Obama?
Lower taxes No socialized medicine Comprehensive energy policy Stronger foreign policy experience Conservative Supreme Court justices Record of bipartisanship in the Senate(although this isn't always a virtue for conservatives) Lower government spending and opposition to earmarks McCain is far from my ideal choice for the GOP nominee. But in a choice of the lesser of two evils, there's no doubt in my mind I'll take the devil I know over the devil nobody knows.
A couple of questions if I may: Under which of these plans will you specifically pay lower taxes? Who is responsible for the explosion of US debt? Where has the bulk the government spending gone to? How are we going to pay off the huge debt? I'm not expecting to change your mind, I'm just trying to point out that the Tax and Spend liberal thing doesn't hold water.
I guess you were wrong, since apparently people do have reasons to vote for McCain. You (and obviously others) may not agree with those reasons, but it's nice to see they can enunciate them.
I guess Obama would have the answer to pay off the debt? He plans on spending big once in office. And where did washington post get their number, is McCain planning additional tax cuts?
actually, I guess I wanted to hear them, because the harping on everything wrong with obama gets old. edit: and for the record, that "they" is only a "he" so far
Clearly either I'm misunderstanding Obama's plan or the WaPost is playing some serious games with numbers. Isn't part of Obama's plan to reintroduce the SS tax for marginal income aboce $250k? So assume you are smack dab in the middle of the $227k to $603k category shown below ($415k). Isn't that a $10k increase right off the bat? Even before the changes in the marginal tax rates?
Hey I'm for Obama, but the prosperity of Bill Clinton and the deficit of George Bush have a lot to with market cycles, though anyone should see that lossening the reins on a horse with his own mind will getcha' throwed. The internet boom was a huge financial engine that created a lot of wealth. Lucky break for Bill! The reduction of confidence in credit markets by allowing greed to reign was a big wealth killer. Cornyism, compromising the fiduciary duty of government. That's at least worth getting fired over if not criminal.
Who needs Jeremiah Wright when you have the statement made by Barack at the end of this video?
