Wow I'm really impressed with how good of a job CD andRudy has done at putting together a team. Now if we could just find a way to get rid of those Papasitos eaten, cell phone using, yuppie I'm too busy and rich to watch the game panty waiste that take up all the good seats at Compaq Center we will have something special going on here. Hopefully winning will bring back the real fans that know how to act properly at the games. You know the people who pay attention and scream and cheer every trip down the floor like you see at other arenas when you watch away games.

True dat. I can't afford seats downstairs yet, but one day hopefully I will be able to.

That will be the day I make life a living hell for those old fogeys down there. I scream like a maniac up top, but its not like the players can here me. Well sometimes.......

Man oh man I wish I had tix behind the opposing bench!

Yep. Once a team starts winning, season
tickets become a "perk" or "incentive" for local
    businesses in the Houston area.

Houston companies will give those tickets to
potential clients that come into Houston
on business trips. You know, to soften them
    up...

They're not really fans of basketball, but they
are fans of specticals. If the Rockets become
an EVENT(a HOT ITEM), not just a
    sporting-even, then you
can forget about seats. Sold out!

Some people don't need to scream to enjoy the game! Only the well to do( financially speaking) can afford the lower seats. Their money is very important to the financial success of the team. Some of them have been attending Rox games for many years, some are great fans and know everything about the Rox.They have great feeling for the game, but have consevative behavior traits, inkeeping with their lifestyle and education. It takes all types to make a world and all types to make a Rox audience.Be tolerant of thoes down below, because they are tolerant of you!

Well spoken Yetti, Im friends with the owner of a very large well know business in Houston and this guy owns it, but anyways, Im friends with his son and daughter and they give us lower level almost on the floor tickets.

they are very true to life Rocket fans, but they dont yell and scream, they have a repuation to uphold

how does yelling and screaming hurt your reputation? its a sports event, not some black tie affair. i'm halfway across the world watching rockets on the tv. i yell and scream at the tv box everytime they do something positive like it'd help the team. i also do the tiger woods fist pump.

    rich people = quiet
    poor people = loud
cheering for team = hurts your reputation
sitting on your hands = looks cool

I have season tickets upstairs in the corner. This will be my eighth year. When I first got them, my friend would stand up and cheer. People behind us asked us to please sit down. I must say, I was shocked. We would trade with the people behind us, so we would not bother them. Unfortunately we would work our way to the back row. I believe in a racous crowd, but when in Rome... I mostly sit now, stand when the spirit moves me, and still have a good time.

Astros also had a national reputatuion for only cheering when the scoreboard told them to. Maybe what we ned is a more active diamond vision.

Back to basketball. Sitting upstairs, it looks to me like, when things are exciting, all of lower bowl is on its feet, all of upper is sitting.

Ok Yuppie, uh I mean Yetti. You’re telling me a true Rocket fan can go to a game and not get emotionally involved with what’s going on? How can you get into a game just sitting there half ass paying attention to what’s happening on the court? Do you know what the term fan means? Obviously not! I'm not saying fans should stand up and be obnoxious just show some team spirit every now and then. It’s a freaking basketball game not an insurance seminar.  Pay attention show some emotion or pack your a$$ up in your Volvo and let someone have your tickets that will dam it!!

Disclaimer: I mean no harm or ill will toward anyone who drives a Volvo especially if your on Clutch's crew. :D

The last game I saw was mid court seats at the very top row. I found the people around me to be pretty quiet. When you go to a basketball game at a University there is a student section that is far more rowdy and stands up most of the game. Maybe the Rockets need a section with a clever name that makes fans feel like they can be themselves. I think everyone should get what they pay for.

if they win more people would come, but they wll be the same type of fans. But if we win and have good prices on tickets we will get more people. But.......If we have the new arena, win, and have lower ticket prices we will be in the top 15 in attendance at least.

Thats what I'm talking about! Possum you keep it coming, your last post made alot of sense; the term fan means fanatic; and no fanatic should just sit there and watch the game, as if they were not trying to be noticed. Unless they were stalking the players or something.:D

    Here's a shot...

Most Houston fans only show up to the game when they are wining.
    (bandwagon).

And those fans that can afford the lower seats are rich (most).

Thus, when the Rockets are wining, the lower bowl is filled with rich
    fan.

And most rich fans are conservative, at least the ones from Houston.

And conservative fans don't yell very loud or get into the game
    as much as die-hard fans.

Sure, there are some rich fans that are also die hard fans. But,
they weren't at last years games (Rockets: 2nd worst in attendance).

Houston Rocket fans remind me of Atlanta Brave fans (Ooohhhh!, that's
    cold!).

The best fans in the NBA are the Kings and Phoenix. Utah
and Portland are pretty good too. Sure, that's the only major sports
team some of those cities have...but it sure it nice to see fans like that,
even when they are losing. That's loyalty!

By the way, if you were wondering about the Lakers? No way.
They suck! They are the biggest bandwagon fans in NBA history.
No loyalty. It's the Hollywood mentality; A blockbuster or nothing.

Even when the Rockets were sucking last year, they still played some
    good games.

Anyone remember the Knick/Rocket game in which we came back from like
    20 points down (4th quarter).

Anyone remember the Pacer/Rocket game in which we went for THREE,
and I repeat, THREE OVERTIMES!!!! Moochy was the man!

Does anyone remember how "quiet" the "rich" fans were when we were winning back to back championships?

Everyone was standing and everyone was cheering and everyone was as much a fan as you poor huddled masses.

    Winning changes everything.
