The season is over 40% complete and there are still no sub .500 teams in our division. One telling stat that it may stay this way for atleast awhile is that EVERY team has more road wins than home losses. I wonder has this happened in any other sport (not hockey) this late in the season?

Hopefully Memphis, Denver, and Utah will fall apart as the season progresses.

Only the Lakers, Kings, and Sonics in the Pacific are likely to be in the playoffs or contend for a spot. I don't see the Blazers contending without replacing the offense of Bonzi. However, everyone in the Midwest is a contender. In my opinion, there are three spots that the Rockets, Grizz, Jazz, Sonics and Nuggets are fighting for. Hopefully we'll stay in the top three.

If the Rockets can't beat of Utah, Memphis, Seattle, Portland, and Denver for the playoffs, then they are an utterly pathetic group that should be beaten senseless.

Things will shake out eventually, most of the non-conference games are front loaded towards the first half of the schedule; as teams start playing each other more the WC will begin to separate.
