All talk and no play

Seriously, that's what it's come down to. All these articles and quotes that the team will turn it around, show that they've put this behind them, come back with a vengeance etc. They are just all talk, especially with Ty & Harden's big mouths and McHale's constant ranting about playing harder and not talking. Ironically he is all talk and no play as well. Has nothing in game to show he's up for the task as a coach.

I think the Role of a coach is to talk and not to play.

2. Our team can't be that stupid? Do they really don't see it's mostly if not all because of Harden?
3. Do you wait Christmas or DMo's return more? What if it's the same day/thing?

An educated guess. Harden is the star, go to player of this team. You really think someone other than Dwight would call him out? And Dwight doesn't want to cause drama. Even coach doesn't bench Harden when it's obvious he's killing the team. Everyone's just too afraid of him. I start to believe that Bballholic was right when he said that Harden decided to play Jones over DMo in the Blazers series.
There were no hints in Lawson's words about "certain players bla bla bla", so I can assume they talked same **** McHale talks: "we need to play harder, no slacking on D". And it's absolutely obvious that no one said: "James, you need to start playing defense".

i would actually like to hear some talk from the GM. i would think some sort of apology to the fanbase is in order for the miserable product they have put on the floor thus far. instead all we've gotten from the front office to date is a tweet from tad brown attempting to blow sunshine up everyone's ass. morey hiding and ignoring this abortion of a season does not reflect well on the franchise.

Talk is cheap as same issues derail progress by Rockets

Dwight Howard is tired of having the same conversation.

The Rockets center doesn't want to discuss it.

After a 96-79 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday at Toyota Center, Howard didn't want to talk about the problems that have plagued the Rockets since the start of the season.

Instead, he wants the team to do something about it.

"We definitely don't need to talk about it anymore," Howard said. "We've been talking about it for a while. Just talking about it doesn't do anything."

The Rockets had another slow start Saturday. They struggled on defense, and their offense was disjointed. By the time they put something positive together, the Blazers were up by more than 30 points, and it was too late for the Rockets to come back.

Winning streak halted

The locker room was quiet following the loss. The Rockets had won two games in a row and seemed headed in the right direction. With the deflating defeat Saturday, though, they felt like they took a big step backward.

"It bothers me," forward Trevor Ariza said. "But we all have to start by holding ourselves accountable."

Slow starts, defensive miscues and poor offense have been issues for the team this season. Interim coach J.B. Bickerstaff hasn't pinpointed the reasons. But he hasn't given up on the team's turning it around.

"It's an individual thing," Bickerstaff said. "Each guy has a responsibility to himself and his teammates to perform a duty. You've got to prepare yourself to come out and play. There have been games where we haven't done it.

"So we'll get to the bottom of it, and we'll figure it out."

Guard James Harden said one of the problems is poor chemistry.

"We are just a step slow on everything," Harden said. "We have to get that chemistry right. When you get a step slow, you give the other team confidence early in the game, and they ride that wave out."

When the Rockets give up early shots and miss on their end, the demeanor of the team falls, Howard said.

It's downhill from there.

"We've just got to be positive," Howard said. "I think that when we miss a couple of shots, our energy level drops. We definitely need to do a better job of staying positive. When you have that negative energy on the floor, it affects everything."

Out of the frying pan …

The Rockets don't have a lot of time to turn things around as they go on the road to face the NBA's top team, the Golden State Warriors, on Tuesday night.

The Warriors, who have won 41 straight home games, average a league-high 115.4 points per game.

"It doesn't get any easier," Harden said. "We have to turn around and play another really good team. Every game is a good opportunity for us, and we have to try to do something with it."

With two games before the All-Star break, the Rockets hope to gain momentum and keep it.

Things look grim again after Saturday, but Howard hasn't given up. Their 27-26 record doesn't reflect who the Rockets are, he said.

"This is all in our own hands," Howard said. "We are competing against ourselves. We have to do a better job not allowing frustration, missed shots, how we played the first half of the season (to affect us).

"We all have to do a better job. We are a better team than what we are showing. I know that.

"We really have to take control and get better. I really believe we can do that."

There's no reason to believe that the Rockets will turn it around this year. How many losses have to mount before we understand that this team is just not good. The sooner the team as a whole realizes that they suck, the better they will play mainly because the sense of entitlement and complacency will disappear.
