Does anybody remember when they released last years votes to the public. For some reason I do not remember it taking so long. Is the NBA postponing it for some strang reason;)

Don't forget to put in another vote!!!!!!!!!!

i bet it has something to do with the fact that there are probably a lot of chinese voters, and that yao is getting most of the votes!!!

if thats the case, lets hope the chinese are also voting for stevie and cuttino.

i only think this because i heard on espn yesterday that 10,000,000, yes 10,000,000 yao fans from china logged on to an internet chat and overloaded it.

But anyway, I seriousy think Yao will start.

I wouldn't be suprised if NBA stop counting international votes......or if Ming decides to be injured that week hehe

I can't wait to here the responses from all of the people saying "Most Chinese do not even have the internet and that they don't care about basketball in china". Next year those same people that have always loved there over rated players getting the starting position based on Fans(Hill"injured", Jordan"last 2 years", Kobe"first year"), will be demanding a change after ming breaks the record for votes into the all star game:)

I belive that Yao will be voted in BUT I do think it would be good for him and the Rockets to have the flu that week just to give him the short rest that way Shaq can have his start and not feel bad playing behind a rookie....:D

if everyone here thinks about it. YAO is the BEST center in the nba. he has the moves of hakeem. and yes some will say im stupid for saying it. but if u think about it shaq has no game. yes he is the most dominate in the league but hes just fat he moves people out the way for a baby hook or dunk..thats it!!...uh if u ask me fadeaways and long hook, jumpshot, and dunks are better...and that is YAO's game

if 10 million chinese logged in to chat about yao you can put money on it they have voted atleast once. I don't know what the highest single total is but I bet it is no way it was close to 10 million. On top of that of those 10 million I bet you at least quarter of those voted for the other rockets. The rockets as a team could start the All star game. Wouldn't that just embarress the NBA. Starting at PF for the Western Conference Kenny Thomas "HAHAHAHA". What a joke

You're missing the point. The goal is not to be the most skilled, or the prettiest, the goal is to be the most dominant. If you get the job done, it doesn't matter how you do it. Also, you're underestimating Shaq's game. Yao is not as good as Shaq, now.

And Yao does not have Hakeem's moves.

We may indeed be able to say at some point that his offensive arsenal rivals Hakeem's. To say it at this early stage seriously shortchanges Hakeem.

    Hi

I dont want yao to be voted as starter if he's not the best. I honestly dont think he's the best now. I just dont want it to be a controversial issue in the media as the result of the votes from china. It's great that yao will get a break in all star period and he will get many chances to attend the game in his career anyway!!

exactly. i can't help but think that if these guys are voting for yao over and over that they probably just stick houston guys on the ballot as well. now starting for the west all-stars: maurice taylor and kenny thomas. heck that might be mo's next playing time at the rate rudy's going. :)

    hello yao,

i agree with u about shaq. he doesnt have the skills that yao has. the most dominant player in the nba cant make foul shots. thats the 2nd easiest shot in bball. he has no range beyond 5 ft.

but having said that, the way the modern game is played and officiated today favors shaq's attributes which is brute strength. dunking is overated and shooting and passing the ball is a lost art. as is moving without the ball. many players now are only a threat if they are within dunking range. thats why the games are low scoring now.

i agree with you. the game is ugly. but thats not shaq's fault. given the state of todays game, he is the most dominant and most valuable player today.

i'd rather yao have a rest during the all-star break. i sure as hell want yao to start but i don't want the world getting jealous all over again and start whining about chinese fans etc.

I have never voted for Shaq, its a wasted vote if you vote for him. He's a fat lazy b*stard who is too good for a FAN's exhibition game like the All Star game, he doesn't get paid for it. No let him stay home and make more crappy rap songs. If Yao Ming wasn't having such a good year, I'd vote for Vlade Divac instead, I think his passing skills are killer, plus he seems to actually enjoy the fans attention. I think everyone is tired of Shaq's act anyway, that lazy fat .... (sorry, I have ALWAYS hated the Lakers and anyone associated with that organization, yes Magic and Kareem, I'm talking to you; if Yao Ming went there, I would still ALWAYS hate the Lakers, maybe it's the jersey)

well I think everyone sees the potential for controversey here, the NBA might have to use the NFL format. 1/3 vote by fans. 1/3 by coaches, and 1/3 by players. what do you guys think?

Yeah, I think they should use the 1/3 format. Even if ming doesn't make the allstar team (one way or the other) it's almost definite he will be there at the rookie game. No rest for the weary.
