the point of the all-star game IS to have a high scoring basketball fest.

Maybe he means US vs. international players, kind of like the NHL format. Could be interesting...

    Starting US lineup:

    Shaq
    Garnett
    Duncan
    TMac? Kobe?
    Kidd

    Starting international lineup:

    Yao
    Nowitski
    Peja
    Ginobli?
    Parker?

Interesting matchup, but I think the international squad would get waxed.

    U.S.

    Starting Lineup
    C Shaq
    F Duncan
    F Garnett
    G Kobe
    G Iverson

    Bench
    G McGrady
    G Kidd
    F Carter
    F J O'Neal
    C Big Ben
    G Ray Ray
    F Artest

    Intl.

    Starting Lineup
    C Yao (China)
    F Nowitzki (Germany)
    F Kirilenko (Russia)
    G Ginobili (Argentina)
    G Nash (Canada)

    Bench
    G Parker (France)
    G Arroyo (Puerto Rico)
    F Peja (Serbia & Montenegro)
    F Gasol (Spain)
    C Magloire (Canada)
    C Vlade (Serbia & Montenegro)
    G Jason Williams (West Virginia)

Might be a fun game to watch for the first half, but I don't think we've reached a point yet where the Intl. players would pose a serious threat.

I didn't want to start a new thread just to ask this question. Can someone please tell me @ what time and on what channel will they be showing the Men's Team USA basketball game tomorrow? A friend of mine wants me to record it for him but I can't find it listed. Thanks.

It's fun, but loses interest. Hockey tried it and it died. So by doing it and then quitting a few years later the NHL destroyed the integrity of the All Star game.

The NBA would end up doing the same thing. Imagine a year when the World wasn't that good.

MLS approcahed it correctly. They held an international vs. USA game before the All Star game. They were lucky because they could pull together the world cup team from the past.

THe NBA couldn't do that, but they could make it an open invitation and see who signs up for 48 minute war of the worlds.

Uh, that's what the NBA season is for.

Why have an All-Star game that plays like a typical NBA season game?

    you'd think.

but if 2nd tier USA can lose to Puerto Rico. 1st tier NBA can lost to World All Stars.

The NBA All Star game has already lost its integrity. Now I don't even bother to watch it. There's no sense of competition. They just let each other go to the basket and dunk.

    Yeah, okay. No competition.

Wasn't the East a Michael Redd three away from winning this past ASG?

Oh, right, you wouldn't know because apparently you don't watch it anymore. So how can you pass judgement on it?

It doesn't say, but I'm guessing it's eastern, so if it's not on at 12 PM, just wait longer.
