    was taking a look at Amen’s percentages in the halfcourt again

    we know the jump shooting is awful, but I’m noticing he was also just 40% on layups while playing against high school kids

    Whitmore’s my guy now. He possesses a lot of Amen’s upside with a much higher floor IMO.

    I’d accept him with the 4th pick, but whoever’s helping him to work on his game would have to perform miracles because having a PG that’s not a threat to score in the halfcourt at all is scary to me

    31% of Amen’s made field goals at OTE were dunks…he could do that because he was one of the oldest and most athletic players there, it was man amongst boys

    Is there any guard or perimeter player in general, Idc how athletic, that is able to generate a percentage that high while in the NBA? Does even Giannis have a percentage of made field goals being dunks that is that high? Did prime Bron?

    Right now, if it’s not a transition dunk or layup, or a dunk in the halfcourt, Amen basically can’t score.

    I see the talent and athleticism. I’d come around to him if we picked him based on potential, but he’s extremely raw. I’m just not taking him over Cam Whitmore

    Probably the biggest gap between floor and ceiling in a while. This dude can either turn into Gerald Green with a Ben Simmons jump shot or Magic Johnson with Clyde Drexler athleticism.

    I question this data, I do not think it is complete. Can I ask what your source is? The percentages do not line up with the official stats on OTE's website, and I think it's missing about 25% of his shot attempts. According to the game log here he took 183 field goal attempts, if my count is correct.

    Edit: Oh, I see, this is just half-court data

    Im concerned with Whitmore as a shooter too though. We desperately need some legitimate shooting threats. Im on Taylor Hendricks at 4 because of his shooting and defense. He doesnt need need the ball to be effective and with Whitmore you would need to give him plenty of looks as an initiator because face up ball is his strength.
