Don't think so . Mom went home and she still didn't have any power.

Mango lives in the Alief area and posted that his power was back on yesterday I think. But no one can really tell you if your specific house will have power - people in Alief can have power while others won't.

Hey I went to Elsik High from 1998-2000. My class was the first one to use the Elsik Ninth Grade Center.

Around Bellaire @ Synott. It went out at 4:45 am and that was probably the peak of the storm. If it had been able to hold out a bit longer, it wouldn't have gone out at all.

Around 6 am, it came back on for 30 seconds and shutdown again. About a minute later, it came on for 30 seconds and shutdown again. Even though it had shutdown. I was happy because it meant that the problem wasn't with a local transformer, but further up the distribution system. Even before the storm had really knocked many people out of power, Centerpoint has said they would start with the fixes that would get the most people up quickly. Since my problem was up the system, fixing me would fix quite a few others. Those with blown transformers and significant damage to the electric grid in their immediate area will be out of service for a while.

It came back on around 3:30 pm for me. Even before my power came back on, there had been a neighborhood rumor that the Welcome store closer to the Beltway had just gotten power restored and that efforts were being made to work through a swatch of Alief.

Some of the businesses around Westheimer @ Kirkwood had power restored Saturday evening and had massive crowds.

What part of Alief?

I'm at the Westheimer/Hwy 6 area near West Oaks, and I live near Richmond and Dairy Ashford, right behind that new Super Target they're building. My power came back at around 11:00 am this morning and we got water shortly afterward.

Just got back from the Tour...

The light at High Star @ Dairy Ashford was not working.
Nor was the one at Dairy Ashford and Alief Clodine.
Nor was the one at Alief Clodine @ Cook.

The light at Alief Clodine @ West Houston Center was flashing red for all drivers. There was an active buzzing from a power pole just before the intersection, so they need a crew to fix that. I don't remember the gas station at that intersection being open. It looked like some power poles had significant lean along West Houston Center (going towards the hospital).

The light at Kirkwood @ Alief Clodine was not working. Took a right onto Kirkwood and it looked like no power was on at the little shopping center on the corner. The convenience stores at High Star @ Kirkwood were both open, but looked somewhat dark. I asked somebody in the parking lot of the one on the right (used to have the skatebord ramp) if there was power there and he said no.

Got back on Kirkwood and the apartments on the left looked like they didn't have power as I made my way to Bellaire.

The Bank of America had some damage to the canopy and perhaps something else at their drivethru. A security guard was sitting in his vehicle watching that situation. Took a left into the parking lot and drove down almost to Belle Park. The light at Belle Park and Bellaire wasn't working.

Headed West and the light at Kirkwood @ Bellaire was not working.
The light at Cook @ Bellaire wasn't working. The Tradition Bank on the corner had significant damage to its sign. Took a right on Cook and the light at High Star @ Cook wasn't working. Got back to Cook and Alief Clodine and took a right. Went past Kirkwood and the Coastal store looked like it had electricity and people waiting to get gas. Drove past that and the car wash
and took one of the side streets before Wilcrest.

People were clearing trees along High Star as I drove back West. Took a right on Bugle (between Highstar and Alief Clodine) and asked somebody if he
had electricity and he said no. Went back to Alief Clodine and took a left.

The light at Synott and Alief Clodine was working completely as usual and the Texaco station was open with people lining up for gas. The light at Bellaire and Synott was flashing red for all.

If that wasn't specific enough, send me a PM with a more detailed location so I can check it in detail for you.
