    oh no... not Ali G!!

I was on another board recently frequented by a bunch of brits and they basically said, "America can HAVE Ali G" so I'm thinking after one or two shows we will become tired of Ali G.

I might give this show a chance, but my first impression is not good. I don't find british humor funny at all. He seems like a mix between vanilla ice and prince charles.

Ali G was genuinely funny. It fell down when he became well-known. As long as the people he's interviewing don't realise they're the butt of the joke it's great.

I assume you're getting repeats from the UK. There's some good stuff in there.

Ali G is Aiii by me. I can see that after a few years you'd get sick of his shtick, but damn is he funny the first few times you see him.

Has anyone here seen his the clips from his first big trip to the US? He had an interview with someone at the FBI, (but he thought it was called the "F.B. ... aiiii!" and I could never do it justice typing it here, but it was fantastic.

    Bailey and Bob,

I was in the UK when he was getting going...hysterical....

However, after he got his talk show it all fell apart.

In the USA no one knows him, and it is hilarious again.

The bit with the designer had me gagging....

I think that is why HBO put him on very late, so that it takes a while for the higher ups to catch on.

    Oh,

Bailey, this is ALL NEW STUFF....and it is just as funny as the Wales minor bit, or the Tree hugger rally, or the interview with the head of the British movie ratings company....

It is VERY VERY FUNNY !!!!

I guess he must have given up on the UK for the time being then... there hasn't been any new stuff since his talk show, which was pretty average.

The early stuff was killer. Talking to the fashion designer about banning wonder-bras! :D

    Bailey,

Last night he went to a fashion show as one of his gay characters, and talked the HEAD guy into letting him walk the runway in the big finale in underwear.

Ah man, he comes out and is cutting up the audience is howling, and then as the fashion guy comes out with the 2 female models on his arms, he comes back out in his underwear and starts doing the worm on the runway.

It was howling......this new stuff is just like the original stuff he did on late night BBC.

No one in America knows about him, so he is back in his element.

Also, he went to a dating service as the Kajakistani guy and started asking for a women with Plow experience....hilarious.

    Bailey,

Trust me, this stuff was classic.

The critics are just too sensitive, because he started off talking about our issues with 7-11 (Still sensitive here) and him saying we have our own racisim with the Indians.

After that it was pure brilliance.

The cop deal was great, he went through the Philly cop training program, and he was pointing his gun everywhere...it was a riot.
