I read somewhere that if the Rox don't make the playoffs that Les Alexander will make some "significant changes".....i wonder who'll be here next season? I wonder if it's going to be as "significant" as moving a star player or two to aquire a higher pick or just a trade involving just a bunch of players? Is the coaching staff gone? if so, is francis really going? Or is Alexander just threatening to dismantle the team so they could try harder to make the playoffs..........stay tuned..........

I wish I had access to listen some of the local radio stations out there in HOU. I bet trade rumors/possible coaching changes are running ramped on the local stations (TV, radio and/or otherwise)?

Guess I have to settle for the usually LA Lakers' drama. You know, the Shaq-Kobe-Phil drama and the whole verbal battle they all have with the Kings drama.

This is same guy who kept the hideous uniforms for almost a decade. Les is lazy. He's not going to make any changes.

    "significant changes"

Moving to a new arena? New uniforms? Lower ticket prices? He's done enough...:)

I know what happened to Rudy was unfortunite, but the opportunity of Larry Smith coaching gave Les a good look at the mess the coaching staff really is. If Rudy comes back i think the staff will still change

Les & Significant go together like mayo & chocolate.

For those who like may and chocolate, you're missing the point.

The most the Rockets will do is either change coaching staff (it won't be Rudy) or trade a couple of vets, hopefully not for draft picks.

Unless he can trade for Darko or Carmelo, heh, then I don't see a draft pick in the cards.

When I saw him earlier in the year in New Orleans, he was so excited about Yao.

Obviously, he wants the new Rockets to be like the Rockets of the Hakeem years. THIS TEAM WILL BE CENTER BASED.

If he really means "significant" I wouldn't doubt not seeing Eddie or Cuttino, although they have both starting to plant roots in Houston it seems. Besides that, waht else could be considered significant, I mean really! It oculd be a dumping offseason, as it was with the Astros moving downtown a few years back.

    Wait and see...

I was thinking that a coaching change could happen because Rudy might be asked to move to the front office given his health condition and the Rockets have looked lifeless since Smith has stepped in.

yeah, really.....and don't forget the Clyde Drexler trade, the Charles Barkley trade, sign & trade for Scottie Pippen, the sign & trade for Steve Francis and drafting Yao Ming.

    yeah,.......Les is soooo lazy.

Actually Cato said that in the beginning of the season. He said something like if they dont make the playoffs, he wouldnt be surprised if they breakup the team. But in reality I do not forsee anything in the future.

dude... i hate mayo, but that would be sweet if a miracle happened, even if we had to trade griff cato and maybe rice or cat... i know it wont happen but ive heard worse on this board.

    at power forward.... darko miliciiiiiiiiiiiiiiiccccccccc

then he could maybe play center to give the yaoster some rest... at least thats what ill do when i but nba 2k4 next year:D

maybe some more foreign blood will do this team some good

how good is darkos outside shot and post up game anyway?

You read that here and when I questioned the poster for a link or some verification, the thread never came to the top again. To my knowledge, no one has substantiated a quote by Les Alexander to the effect of any changes.

Les called the trade of a 2nd round pick for Mario Elie 'significant' when he first took over.

Les will never fire the guy who gave him a new arena.

Les may be lots of things (he may be, who knows, he is a phantom to the public) but lazy is not one of them. he is self-made and dedicated to the Rox. I just hope he sees some of what I see, and hears what I say.

For example -- significant changes are necessary. Paying the Luxury Tax is necessary. Spend your money, Mr Owner, spend it wisely!
