Strange year for the guy. Went from a relative unknown to a token 5th Heisman candidate. Could return for another year, and probably would, except he's less likely to impress given graduation and a coaching change. I can't really get a handle on the guy. On the one hand, he's extremely, accurate, throws fairly hard, has good presence, and makes good decisions. On the other, he relies heavily on rolling out, etc, to generate his success...and completely lacks the speed to do this at the next level. Moreover, his arm strength, while good, is somewhat below average at the NFL level. And he's never faced a good defense in his college career. I can't imagine that he'll be a star. But can he start?
Ask Philip Rivers what? He doesn't have arm strength issues, and played plently of "good defenses" I don't follow your analogy, please explain.
This move puzzles me to no end. He seems like a late third rounder at best. Why come out early for that? Seems like he's scared of his stock dropping with the loss of Urban Meyer.
You gotta get while the gettin is good. He's coming off an undefeated season and a BCS win. You can't tell me Utah will have another season like this year anytime soon. Certainly not next year. I've only seen 1 Utah game this year (vs A&M) but I'm always weary of QB's that are a product of a pass happy system.
